    Reevaluating Wlad's Victims
Alexander Vladimirovich Povetkin is a 6'2 35 year old Heavyweight with a 28-1 20 KO's record. Born in Kursk, Soviet Union currently living in Chekhov, Russia. One of the more frustrating talents in Russia his inconsistent performances irritate the hell out of me, he struggles with guys he should walk through and dominates or KO's guys you think will give him a tough fight, he's very up and down. But ever since his hug filled but still brutally one sided destruction at the hands of Wlad, it seems Sasha has had somewhat of a rebirth he's come rip roaring back with 2 brutal KO of the year contenders with his obliteration of Takam despite early struggles and his charring KO of Charr has proven just how legit Povetkin really is. Maybe the beatdown by Wlad was just the asskicking he needed to get his head on straight and become Russian wrecking ball he has this year. So Check Out Алекса́ндр Пове́ткин The Comeback Kid he may prove to be one of Wlad's best wins in retrospect.:toney:toney:toney:toney

    How would Povetkin fare against:
    Fury
    Pulev
    Wilder
    Perez
    Jennings
    Price
    Stiverne
    Chisora
    Glazkov
    Wach
    Solis
    etc.
Who would he beat or lose to Discuss:hand

Povetkin wins consistently. His performances, however, are not consistent. I have a theory on why that is: he is so underwhelmed by certain opponents he does not do everything possible to enhance his performance in training before the fight. However, going into big fights he uses every performance enhancing discipline available.

Povetkin has taken two good scalps since he lost to Wlad.He seems to be back on the tracks.Especially his victory over the quite capable Takam was quite impressive. No doubt that he is the undisputed nr.2 at heavy at present. Both Stiverne and Wilder would be the underdogs in a fight with him at t his point of time.

Glad you've done a thread about him. He's a honorable and respectful sportsman and definitely one of my favorite boxers. I've been watching him since the Olympics.

    * Fury could give him problems due to his size, reach and weight advantage. I still favor Povetkin though.
    * Pulev is among the smarter boxers currently and it would definitely be a good fight. I always believed that this is a tough fight for Sasha.
    * Wilder likely gets knocked out early/mid rounds (could be wrong, Wilder is still a question mark).
    * Perez - Could be difficult for Povetkin to outbox, but considering that Perez always gets tired mid-rounds, Povetkin got this.
    * Jennings could be very tricky, due to his very good reach utilization.
    * Price - Povetkin by knockout.
    * Stiverne - didn't see much of him apart from the Arreola fights. Could be dangerous.
    * Chisora gets either stopped (more likely) or widely decisioned (less likely) after taking a beating.
    * Glazkov gets knocked out or widely decisioned.
    * Wach - Povetkin by UD.
    * Solis could be tricky. If in decent shape, Solis could be a very difficult challenge to deal with.

Povetkin would beat anyone in the heavyweight division not named Wlad Klitschko, and I believe that when they do rematch, Sascha will give him a hell of a second fight.

    Perez
    Jennings
    Price
    Stiverne
    Chisora
    Glazkov
    Wach
    Solis
    etc.

Beats ALL of them. Would be a great/dominant champion himself if the Klitschkos weren't around. Amazing HW who would be top 10 in any era.

Sloverne lose every round and get KO'd late, it would be greatly one-sided.

Wilder would always be the underdog against any top-30 fighter with his glass jaw.
