I'm glad that Povetkin has Ivan Kirpa as coach. Not sure why Kostya Tszyu was left behind by the team.

Does he have first dibbs on Stiverne/Wilder? He has the backers to outbid K2 and get to fight the winner in Russia.

    No. Jennings does.

If Jennings fights Wladimir, then Povetkin is most likely next in line. It would be hard to see his management losing the purse bids, so it would be interesting if Stiverne/Wilder winner had to travel to Russia.

If Jennings fights Wlad I think the winner of Stiverne/Wilder would likely be granted a voluntary defense and then have to face Povetkin. Do you believe Povetkin could defeat Stiverne or Wilder?

Povetkin is the third best Heavyweight of the post-Lennox era.

And he is shockingly close to Vitali in terms of resume, really.

I haven't seen much of either guy, but would definitely favor Povetkin to beat both. Wilder has shown distance measuring and defense problems so far (he also doesn't have a proper jab), but he's still a bit of a question mark. I think that Povetkin would knock him out to be honest.
Stiverne on the other hand could be more dangerous (if Wilder really turns out to be just a hype job), but he wouldn't be outboxing Povetkin (I'm not sure about Stiverne outboxing Takam to be honest). Maybe he could stop Povetkin, but I see that as a hardly possible. It's more likely that Povetkin stops Stiverne or wins a comfortable decision. If the fight would take place in Russia, I believe that Povetkin would be a comfortable favorite.

Good assessment. I am a undecided on who I would favor in those matchups. I do believe Stiverne is dangerous but clearly on resume I would make Povetkin the favorite.

Povetkin is a really good fighter and IMO in the A+ class (at least since the Wlad loss he had a big jump in motivation) that would be also nice. Wlad beats Jennings, stiverne beats wilder. Povetkin beats wilder, Wlad takes on fury and then we would have again a multimillion fight Wlad vs povetkin in russia in which Wlad wins way clearer and not as dirty as last time

Povetkin would beat Jennings, and Perez, but would lose against the rest.

He would beat all your mentioned foes, but I for one think that Perez who is in shape would be the toughest opponent for Povetkin. An out of shape Perez stands no chance against Povetkin who isnt known for his outstanding stamina either.Still, his stamina is still better than all those lazy Cuban heavies who have talent but dont stick their noses to the grindstones in order to make the best of their God-given talent.

I always rewatch Povetkin/Rahman when I want a good laugh, man Rahman was so shot! I can't help but cracking up when Rahman was leaning on the ropes to keep himself up, it was both sad and funny at the same time. :rofl

Not brutally but I can imagine Perez retiring on his stool because he's gassed.
