The amount was measured in nanograms. I am surprised they were able to detect it at all

I would be surprised if they were able to detect it if he took a pill in March this year. Most drugs don't stay in your system for a month or even two.

But the fact that they detected some, and Povetkin's team claimed he last took it in September ... eight months ago ... frankly goes beyond surprised and ventures into the not humanly possible range.

A pill won't stay in your system for eight months. Especially if you are as active as Povetkin has been in his training videos he's posted non-stop since January.

    He took it more recently.

Did he take it to cheat or get caught?

When they said that it takes months to leave your system, we knew he tried to cheat. Wilder should cancel and go after Joshua. I feel sorry for the past Povetkin opponents. I really do.

Yes, take a pill to pull out of a fight risking possible suspension and damaged reputation instead of just faking an injury. Great idea indeed genius.

:D I used to know many people who shared those sentiments.

On a serious note though, this is AWFUL news. Why Alexander, why? What he took is a banned substance that has been found to enhance endurance and recovery in athletes following heavy physical exertion. They put it on the list for a reason.

I wish he hadn't done this. Even if he wins now, the victory is surely tainted big time. :-(

Boxing is not a "game" you play. Lives are at stake in there. This cheating bul1**** needs to be dealt with once and for all... but it'll never, ever happen.

And his promoter said he last took it in September. That's eight months ago.
