    I think so.

6-2 230lb Olympic champion. Former Wba heavyweight champion. One professional loss to an ATG hall of fame heavyweight in his prime. A very good resume including Three consecutive knockouts in a row over top 15 heavyweights.

Povetkin has good size, he's a big puncher, brutal finisher, fluid fantastic combination puncher, good boxing skills, excellent chin. A lot of heart.

Wlads legacy grows with every povetkin win

He has very good resume but TBH he was never HW champion, his WBA belt is bogus, as Wlad was real WBA champion at that time.

I'd surely rank him TOP 40 if he beats Wilder and wins his 1st true HW championship belt.

Povetkin as of today does not rate at all as a pro. Very limited record. Maybe in 10 years but right now ....zip.

No. based on a h2h basis, he is easily top 40. based on resume and never holding a proper title, maybe mot.

Povetkin is very underrated but top 40 all time is over reaching just a little. H2h I am sure he would beat many fighters of the past.

He is really on a roll right now as OP has stated. Both Perez and Takam were top ten ring fighters at time Povetkin fought them and won both by KO. Destroying Perez. Charr is a top 15 guy and former world title challenger also defeated in dominant fashion. Add that to his wins over Chagaev, Eddie Chambers, Chris Byrd and a great Cruiser testing out hw in Huck and Povetkin has had a very good career.

It is a bit of a sell at the moment.

I am not saying that he won't end up there when the dust settles, but at the moment, 40 is a very small number.

I would love to hear 99 other heavyweights who are both more accomplished than him and would beat him. I'm all ears

Povetkin is a beast, had he fought in the 1920- He would have looked like Mike Tyson in his prime

Why would there be a 100 if he's in the 100? That's mathematically impossible ;)

I think he is the best of the rest right now, but that is not enough.

to get a top 40 ranking today, you have to walk past fighters who beat a lot of top ten ranked guys.

This is a ridiculous assertion. My god it's starting to seem like everyone who starts a thread on this forum has an agenda.

SQ himself said that it adds to Wlad's legacy. (and having watched that fight, I wouldn't be bragging about that win, cause that is the last time I'm watching Wlad fight, that was complete garbage)

Then you got the Tyson lovers, the Lewis haters, the Mayweather worshiper's
    and on it goes.

    Right, not to mention kings.

For me, to get to 40, he'd have to be above guys like Moorer, Machen, Quarry and Johansson. Not really happening quite yet I don't think.
