Chambers is a fast, decent all-around heavyweight who doesn't do anything special. His jab is his best punch, but it doesn't have the snap, power, or length to keep Povetkin at a distance. I really don't see his speed or defense (two other things people comment on) being much of a puzzle for Sasha to solve. Povetkin will take him out of his comfort zone and make him fight on the inside. Chambers' workrate is no where near Povetkin's, so he will get outworked. Not to mention outmuscled and roughed up. Povetkin's short, well-placed shots on the inside will do their damage and Chambers will tire as the fight progresses.

    Povetkin TKO9

I just cant see any scenario that ends in Chambers winning this.

I like Eddie Chambers but he's too small to stand up against the Tank Povetkin.
Calvin Brock has no killer instinct and let Chambers win by not being aggressive in the later rnds.
Povetkin will pound him into a pulp.
I think Chambers should lose weight and go cruiser.

If Chambers stands in front of Povetkin as he did against Brock, he will get knocked out. Not sure what will happen if Chambers decides to play stick-and-move. Povetkin has a number of flaws which can be exploited by a clever boxer.

Neither can I. Chambers too small won't hurt Povetkin.

Hey I just drove thru Oklahoma and it's damn toll roads :patsch
I saw a drunken Indian (Native American) shoot at a Oklahoma state trooper on hwy 40 or 44, anyway about 50 cop cars and a hellicopter chased him down until he finally rolled the car. Saw 50 cop cars but not one ambulance

I am really looking forward to this fight. It could be an exciting affair, two unbeaten prospects both will put it all on the line. Its just good to see two new generation heavyweights fight and capture some attention, both of these guys are the future of the division no matter who wins.

Eddie Chambers is the best young american prospect out there. Which isn't saying a lot, considering the competition is Mike Mollo and Chazz Witherspoon. But he's a pretty good fighter, he fights smart, he has good technique and fast hands.

Alexander Povetkin is harder hitting and stronger, but even though Chambers is a small heavyweight he'll be able to hold his own against Povetkin. Povetkin has a more european, upright style compared to the slick Eddie Chambers. However, Povetkin is technically skilled and managed to handle Chris Byrd, who is very similar to Chambers, pretty easily.

Eddie Chambers will offer more resistance and make it closer than Chris Byrd, but I think Alex Povetkin is too strong and will grind out a close 115-113 UD. Possibly a late stoppage or TKO.

Only watched one EC clip on youtube and only one live Povetkin fight...everything else on AP was youtube.

Eddie Chambers looks pretty orthodox to me; he has OK: defense, punch taking ability, good speed in burst, likes to mix it up and has OK hooks. He likes to box too, has a decent jab cross. All in all...good but nothing special. Average amateur experience.

Alexander Povetkin looks like a puncher-swarmer to me: he stands on top of you looking for an opening, before opening you up with an explosive punch and swarming you. Goot technique - strong amateur experience. Likes to hold with one hand and hit you with the other. Very nice crosses and hooks. Patient and careful. Fights like a bear!:p

I expect EC to box from the outside as much as possible, using his jabs to keep AP away, at a distance. I expect EC to move in as AP comes in and trade with him hard; EC needs a KO. I expect AP to stalk him to get inside, use his flurries and combinations to try and stop him. AP could win on points him, by boxing on the inside, as he did against Byrd.

EC needs to make his jab count for a lot, defensively. Needs to turn it into a slugfest inside, forget about getting him, forget his tight guard and just trade. Needs to move very better than usual and make sure he keeps his distance.

AP - just by doing the usual stuff.

I think the fight will start pretty slowly. Both men will be tentative. As AP finds an opening and gets through more and as EC covers up but doesn't score much, EC realises he needs to start boxing more, whilst concentrating on jab, jab, jab. As Povetkin comes in, EC will hit him hard, without worrying about covering up. AP becomes more patient, looks to tire EC out, moves more around him, testing and poking, using his speed, and attacking him viciously with flurries, before moving out of harm's way.

Tempting to predict a Povetkin TKO but if Chambers instead of covering with a tight guard starts trading straight away aggressively, whilst boxing and jabbing for the rest of the time, he could survive and lose by 6 rounds.

    Povetkin 118-112 UD.

chambers is a much better boxer than many are giving him credit for. most here are expecting povetkin to ko a guy who has never been down in his career. perhaps you, like myself, have bought into the hype. povetkin brings power and stamina, chambers brings skill and experience. expect chambers to frusterate povetkin early; and, if alexander is as good as hyped, povetkin should eventually pull out the win.

Eddies being seriously under estimated and I'm glad. Hope Povetkin believes it all himself:good

Chambers is faster, stronger(though not in punching power) and has the jab an D to thwart Povetkins assault.

They are bringing Eddie to germany as the opponent. ODDS are? It goes 12, eddie out boxes Povetkin, and gets ROBBED in Germany as many others have.

People gushing on Povetkin will likely have their eyes opened some, come fight time. We'll find out how well AP can box and this aint no old ass, shot, chris byrd, who covers up and slaps.:nono Eddie will send him backwards and walk him down if Povetkin fights that way vs chambers:good

I was waiting for your post!:D

Would you go into more detail, please? Really low chance of a Povetkin T/KO, according to you? Please explain why in more detail, if you have 5 minutes.:good

You know, you don't win world amateur championships and Olympic Golds by not being skilled; and that background and experience counts a lot for Povetkin. I don't see Chambers bringing anything to the table that Povetkin can't handle.

I can't beleive no one is giving Chambers a chance, sure he is the underdog but he is pretty good boxer with good speed, fundamentals and good stamina. He is sneaky with his defense letting his opponents punch themselves out ( taking most punches on the arms and shoulders) while he himself comes on strong in the latter rounds. He has shown to have a pretty good beard, which I am sure Povetkin will test. I know Povetkin has a very good amatuer pedigree, but Chambers though young is a very active Heavyweight with all ready 30 fights under his belt (all wins). Povetkin only has 14 fights (though his comp. has been good), I'll take experience and speed in this fight.

well povetkin has accomplished all of that with an utter lack of defense
