It may turn out that Povetkin is just on a different level, but I expect nothing less than an action packed fight. :)

Povetkin will break him down and get a late stoppage.

Looks like Manuel Charr - James Toney is added to the undercard.

Rakhim Chakhkiev - Giacobbe Fragomeni is the co-feature for the main event.

Do you have any idea why Wlad is not rated by the WBC? It doesn't make any sense to me.

The WBC and other alphabet organizations do not rank title holders in their ratings. You could be the #1 contender for the WBC belt but if you fought for say the IBF title and won first, you would vanish from their rankings. That's why unification is difficult and it's a credit Wlad has done this for the most part. If there is big money to made the alphabets go along with it otherwise they avoid it. Wlad brings the money so hopefully it happens

Thanks for clearing that up. I hope a unification fight happens sometime next year.

Povetkin is excluded from WBA's newest rankings. The reason is speculated to be the decision of his team to fight Manuel Charr, and now Carlos Takam (neither boxer is rated inside top 15 by the WBA).

Povetkin's promoted isn't concerned about that, saying that their main objective is to progress through the WBC ratings and eventually capture the belt. That would probably lead into the rematch between Povetkin and Klitschko, which has been Povetkin's main goal even since he lost the fight.

finally, we're seeing Povetkin in the ring with someone who isn't a straight bum. Takam is a decent fighter on the rise. he's strong and solid. looks durable as well.

who wins, i'm not so sure. i know where Povetkin is, i just don't know what level Takam is at the moment. but we're going to find out pretty soon. i really like this fight.

The fight is in two days.

Povetkin's team expects high activity from Takam. They say Povetkin will be ready for that. He has been through an excellent camp and had a good sparring. It is said that his sparring partners were "two Americans with good records".
