Does CST have as much mileage on him as Sasha? :risas3:

I don't think a lot of people actually know what FAT is.... His stamina is better than a lot of so-called "in shape" heavyweights.

I think Sasha is a bit older actually! CST is no spring chicken, that's for sure! Not not too far behind Povetkin or Ortiz.

CST is a bit more like Mansour early into his comeback! If that answers your question.

I think most HW's get a bad rap for stamina ...you need to look at punch counts and style. Povetkin was also pushing around clearly the heavier guy. I thought Povetkin could have ended this fight early but played a safety punch count himself.

I'm amazed the way so many people rate Povetkin so highly. Not criticizing you, as you're surely not alone. But this guy has been so overrated for so long, after doing so little.

A lot of "soft bodies" fighters seem to have boundless stamina - look at Tyson Fury prior to his troubles - fast, jerky movement for 12 rounds.

Perhaps, the "mesomorphic", muscular and cut fighters (Joshua etc) have too much fast twitch muscle, burning out their stamina reserves. The slightly flabbier ones have the slow twitch muscle composition of marathon runners.... and having a lot more of it, with added fat, doesn't alter their great endurance. That type of physique is less prone to injury too; slow twitch types are over represented in football academies, despite having less desirable physical talents - as they are less likely to drop-out through injury. That said, maybe I am biassed: my own build is a piece of string - used to be good at cross country running - and incapble of putting on any muscle or looking buff, no matter how much exercise I do.

Regardless of what you think of him, he's been a top 5(at least) HW for a decade. That's saying something. Other than AJ I can't confidently rate anyone about him currently, resume wise or h2h..

And during that entire time, he never did much of anything. He beat some decent contenders, and he held a bogus minor title strap. Never won a major title. Never beat a huge name. Barely scrapped by Marco Huck. Avoided Wlad like the plague for years because he "wasn't ready". And overall, while I know a lot of people see an abundance of talent when they watch him - after all these years, I still don't see it.

 Come on dude, you know it doesn't work like that. Different night, different camp/performance from Hammer, different clash of styles...

A single instance of A kayoing B and C going the distance with him doesn't = A is more capable of kayoing people in general than C, no more than A beating B and B beating C means that A beats C h2h..

Hammer actually showed a lot of heart and resiliency today (like you said you didn't watch it, but he got rocked a bunch of times) and on top of that fought a mostly careful and defensive fight (though he did have moments of inexplicable and ill-advised "bravery" - read: stupidity - where he seemed to feel like brawling with Povetkin was a good idea, briefly, until that look of panicked regret would spread over his face a moment later ) so most of Sasha's blows were either cushioned at least partly by a piece of glove, or mitigated by Hammer moving backward. The couple times Povetkin got in a clean power shot or two Hammer was shook, but he recovered well each time to his credit and tied up intelligently when he needed to in order to not get dusted off.

    The devils advocate himself.

Nah, it's good to hear alternative points of view.

I think people fell in love with his fan friendly and late career surge in power where he was really laying guys out for a few years.

Other than belt value do you consider his bogus WBA reign any less credible than Wilder or Parkers? Wilder won his title off Stiverne who won it by beating Arreola TWICE after Vitali retired and dropped the belt, Parker won his dubiously against Ruiz after the Fury situation. Some may overrate Povetkin sure, but apart from AJ and the Klitschkos he's easily the most accomplished HW in the post Lewis era.
