Who wins? Neither of them are known for taking a backwards step. I see an all-action fight between two come-forward HWs.

Man what a fight this would be. Neither backing down, both ripping in hard shots.

Povetkin is better technically, but nothing he does is really designed to deal with a fighter than comes at him like Tua would, but then again that's the same with Tua, they are all about getting inside on bigger men.

Best version of Tua was a beast, not like the one who fought Lewis who was too heavy. The one that fought Lewis would get out worked, but the one that fought Ibeabuchi could match Povetkin's work rate and then it comes down to who takes each others shot better, because both can hit and both eat shots with their style.

With a gun to my head I give Tua the edge, he won't fade late like Takam did and when he lands his shots they'll be with far more force than Takam could generate. I've never seen Tua hurt apart from when he was shot at the end of his career, he took bombs from Ike and Lewis and didn't flinch, Rahman too who hits hard couldn't hurt him. Eventually Povetkin's chin gives out and Tua winnings via stoppage.

Holy hell this would be an amazing fight - it feels ridiculous I never thought of it and that it never happened. I could come up with all kinds of arguments for both, and I can not see any way it wouldn't be a classic.

    Dammit.

This. Tua has the power, but is too limited and predictable.

    David Tua vs. Lester Jackson

Jackson proved early in Tua's career that counter punching, timing, and combos keep Tua honest. Jackson was much older than Tua and in awful shape, but keep Tua from landing very many clean shots and was able to back Tua up when he needed to. Povetkin is way more skilled than Jackson was and would be in top condition, so Tua would lose a lopsided decision.

Wow, tough one, but I kind of favor the slicker Potvekin.

    Povetkin by UD!

Hard fight but all around Povetkin would have the tools to avoid the shorter powerhouse incoming combos.

Oleg lasted 11 rounds so the answer would be Povetkin who is levels over Maskaev!

No way a guy that got pushed around and arguably lost to Marco Huck sees the 12th against David Tua. Povetkin is no Ike Ibeabuchi. He doesn't have the skills nor the chin to stand Toe to Toe with a prime. Take the rose tinted glasses off your boy is getting blasted the **** out and thats the truth.

There is nothing "slick" about Povetkin.
