Wilder is already getting crucified over the Molina fight for getting wobbled a couple of times. Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, and Wladimir Klitschko, widely regarded as three of the best of all time all were knocked out by class B fighters. Not wobbled, but knocked out. Does that mean they sucked or had glass jaws?

Anthony Joshua has fought almost the same level of competition as Wilder except he has had only 14 fights, is physically similar to Wilder and yet he is getting hailed the next Mike Tyson. What is wrong with this picture?

Bottom line is, American fighters get no respect in boxing right now. If Wilder was a Brit people would be hailing him invincible. Anthony Joshua has proven far less and yet is getting way more respect.

After Molina had this joke on ***** street is there any doubt that Povetkin would destroy this clown in a round or two? Let's be realistic here. Povetkin is an elite HW with a lot of skill and power, he demolishes this fraud.

I don't think Wilder is a 'fraud' but it is a bronze medalist versus a gold medalist. Povetkin has proved he knows how to win consistently throughout the years. Wilder has proved he's a good puncher with an exciting come forward style. It ought to be a good fight.

Who has Povetkin beaten with Wilder's combination of height, reach and power? Just answer that question. He's faced one legit taller fighter, and he looked silly. Jennings handled Klitschko better.

Bottom line is, when you face taller guy with power, you better have the speed to get inside. Povetkin while a great phone booth fighter with a strong punch, has shown nothing to indicate he has that kind of speed. Molina is 6'4 or 6'5, which is why he was able to buzz Wilder some here and there. Povetkin is only 6'2.

Wilder's only chance is not taking a shower before the fight like Huck did.

I said a combination of height, reach and power. Learn to read instead of picking and choosing the parts of the post to respond to. Wilder is more than tall.

And Stiverne is as good as anyone Povetkin has beaten. If you don't agree tell me which Povetkin opponent other than Klitchko was better?

Wilder has the nerve to make allegations of Povetkin using steroids and says how could you win the belt and live with yourself. He should ask himself the same question, how did he earn a title shot. Povetkin in his last three fights defeated better competition than Wilder has his entire career.

This is more perceived than real. Wilder opponent Malik Scott scored a unanimous decision over Alex Leapei, the exact same result Manuel Charr got. And Charr fought a draw with Takam Povetkin's other recent opponent.

The third one was Perez, and I honestly wouldn't be totally shocked if he was payed to go to Russia and take an early dive to secure Povetkin the WBC mandatory spot. His promoters have deep pockets. Not saying it happened or that Perez would have beaten him otherwise, but its funny how Jennings handled Klitschko better than Povetkin but yet struggled mightily with Perez. then Perez turns around and goes down in one round.

Of course I know people say the same about Malik Scott and Wilder.

Stiverne didn't fight any of Povetkin's opponents, but you can definitely make an argument he is at least on par with most of them since he handled Arreola better than Klitschko did.

He took 8 for journeyman Molina. But he will dispose of Povetkin in 4, who went 12 with Klitschko? :hi:

It's pretty easy to get inside on Wilder and as soon as Povetkin did, it would be over pretty quickly.

Based on what? Molina got inside maybe once or twice, and Molina has two inches of height and six inches of reach on Povetkin. Getting inside on a tall puncher requires a lot of foot speed, I've not seen it with Povetkin.

Povetkin and Wilder have had one common opponent, Firtha. I went back and watched both their fights with him. Firtha not only went the distance with Povetkin, but seemed in decent shape at the end. Even knocked him down once in the tenth, (although it was a push). Against Wilder, he was a bloody mess and gone in four rounds.

Not saying that automatically means Wilder wins, but its not much of a stretch to say Wilder would have beaten Povetkin's last three opponents too, or that Molina might have even went the distance with Povetkin, lesser fighters have. I would say Stiverne and Malik Scott would have had a shot at beating Povetkin's last three opponents as well.

I rewatched Perez and Povetkin too, telling you all, Perez did not show up for that fight, he looked overweight and like he was waiting to take a dive. Takam and Charr were impressive wins, but the fact is, neither of them had Wilder's height, reach or power.

All things considered, the facts simply don't support no more people than this giving Wilder a chance. I think you all are overrating Povetkin and not giving Wilder enough respect. If Povetkin beats him I will gladly eat crow.

Just read that Wilder will refuse to fight Povetkin........................what will the WBC do? Povetkin will knock Wilder out, no doubt about it, that's the reason Wilder refuses to fight him................Wilder also refused to fight Klitschko................and Thompson..................

What are you talking about? Wilder has never said he refused to fight Povetkin, he said he would stay busy and not wait for him to be his next fight. And he never refused to fight Klitschko either.

And why will he definitely knock him out because you say so?

Povetkin is on a roll, and looking good doing it. I think he really, really wants to switch off Wlad's lights in a rematch, and Wilder is just a stop on the way.
