This ain't Ward or Kovalev's fault. It's the promoters/managers who are killing the sport's momentum.
Both fighters want to get it on but you can't expect Ward to come off a year layoff, jump a weight division and face the division's best without adequate preparation.
The problem is Roc Nation isn't ready for this level of client and fight with their incompetent managers.
Probably Jay-Z holding up the act trying to think of how to do the impossible and put the fights on Tidal.

Putin will be present to witness history for glory of the Russian Federation -- Putin celebrates Povetkin like a national hero.

Will Obama be present to lend strength to Wilder? Oh wait, Obama and 99% of the American public have no idea who Wilder even is :rofl

The same could be said for Europeans. :tired

Yet the difference is that they own 50% of the belts, and "yanks" only own about 10%.

Please do not post fake statements.

or to create comfortable conditions for Sasha, of course, I chose the second.

Ryabinskiy was asked to cut the money (take lower cash) in order to host the fight in Barclays Center in New York. Barclays couldn't meet Ryabinskiy's financial requirements, and considering that Povetkin would be more comfortable fighting in Russia anyway, it was an easy choice for Ryabinskiy to select Russia.

The same Barclays Center offered Ryabinskiy to host Klitschko/Povetkin when the Russian won those purse bids, but again the money was in Russia.

There are also talks that Ryabinskiy may put Povetkin/Wilder and Lebedev/Ramirez on the same card.

Cheers and please don't post the exact opposite of what has been said. :good

Obama is a little busy these days with a Republican Senate blocking his policies. Putin doesn't have to worry about opposition ....he's had them all killed.

Umm, now povetkin would rather get ko'd closer to home. Before povetkin was saying he'd rather get ko'd in Vegas than Russia.

This board takes every snippet to heart and can't comprehend anything, so this should be simple to explain. Maybe losing and going directly to his bed is better than getting wrecked and having to fly home

Or, it's much easier to cheat or drug Wilder in Russia than in NY or Vegas. Not to mention, RUSADA. :yep

Wilder will need a KO just to get a split decision. He'd better be careful of anything he eats or drinks there.

You read those articles and the dates on them are from last year.

Last year, they wanted the fight in April or May. Now that April is a few weeks away ... it's by the end of the summer.

They wanted it in New York to build Povetkin's "brand" in the U.S., and now they're going to hold it in Russia so it's "easier" for Povetkin.

Meaning ... Povetkin is having second thoughts and they're doing everything they can to coddle him.

    * Remember, POVETKIN is the guy who pulled out of TWO fights "AFTER" the purse bids.

    * Remember, the guy who won the purse bid is the same guy who CONFIDENTLY said Deontay Wilder would dump the WBC belt and fight Charles Martin instead.

They never in their wildest dreams thought they'd actually have to fight Deontay Wilder for the WBC title.

They thought they'd be able to pick up a vacant WBC belt (just like they picked up their VACANT OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL in a walkover and their VACANT WBA REGULAR TITLE).

So they keep pushing it back and pushing it back ... HOPING Wilder will dump the belt. And he isn't.

The question now is will Povetkin make it THREE pullouts after purse bids.:huh

"Cut the money" in the sense that he was saying it means that he could have taken the fight to Barclays (owned by a Russian btw) and been paid for it, giving him a chunk of cash that would lower the amount of money he would be out of pocket for the bid -- if Barclays gave him $2M, that would be $2M less he would be out -- his $7.somethingM bid now becomes $5.somethingM that he would be out.

Thus the money he is obligated to pay in purses has been cut by, in my example, $2M.
