Atlas didn't start training him until after Estrada, and then he got injured again. He was supposed to fight Samuel Peter a while back but it didn't happen. Anyway Guinn is a decent test for Povetkin, but one he should win. If he does he should have a fight against someone like Peter before the Wlad fight is available.

I'm not just talking in real fight situations, Atlas has been with Povetkin through numerous sparring sessions and so on so forth. I doubt they're entirely comfortable with one another yet. This could just be a "lets work on things" fight.

I've never been impressed with Guinn, even when people were high on him...Anyway Teddy said on FNF's that after this fight they are going after Wlad.

He needs to work on some things and this is a pretty fair "stay busy" fight before fighting Wlad K.

Guinn is a fairly big guy and can punch a bit with the hook,s o he is a much more relevant test than anyone Povetikin has yet faced. Good luck, Sascha!

I feel like thats a step down for Povetkin. Guinn is nothing more than a journeyman making his bones at this point. Not a bad keep busy fight, but beating Guinn wont say anything about Povetkin, unless Povetkin puts on a bad performance.

I think Guinn doesn't let his hands go because he can't take a punch to his body that well.

Povetkin did a decent Tyson impression vs Leo Nolan, including not wearing socks ( apparently ). It will be interesting to see if he has improved upon that.

Anyone remember when Guinn just about decapitated Michael Grant? Grany got caught with a devastating shot, his head snapped all the way from one side to the other, but he still somehow got up...Teddy Atlas tried his infamous motivational speeches, but they didn't work that time.

I'd love to see Povetkin vs Adamek.

The niece has to be in her upper 30s by now.

Guinn is a good opponent for Povetkin as a tune up. Little movement, will be right there to be outworked. Wlad next.
