Anyone can look good on highlights, that's kind of the point of them, isn't it? His defence relied on his natural abilities. Kind of like Roy Jones Jr wasn't that good of a boxer, really. It's his insane natural abilities that made him what he was. If most anyone else tries what RJJ and Ali did, they'd get clipped hard and called idiotic bums. I like orthodox European style boxing. Watching Loma and Usyk is beautiful. They don't really have natural gifts, with them it's all down hard work and dedication.

 

Ok then watch Ali's fight against liston or any fights before he went to prison. You going to say prime Holmes defense is bad ? What about Toney Tucker ? They didn't work hard ? It just sounds like your biased. We cant compare different eras like that because fighters in general fough a hell of a lot more. Technology and medical aid has also advanced. Everybodys different as well. You have Cooney not really showing signs of brain damage despite not having notable defense and getting knocked out multiple times
