I don't get how Kayode started "well", they were both measuring each other with nothing happening, that doesn't constitute a good round for you IMO.

Lowered expectations. Plus, Kayode controlled the range with the jab in the first. But it's been Lebedev since then.

He didn't control anything, Lebedev fights from the distance anyway, he's been throwing a weak jab and missing with it.

There's a line between boxing disciplined to win, and playing it too safe to survive, knowing you're not scoring enough to win on the road.

The problem is that not only did Kayode do the latter, but by doing so, he gave a natural counterpuncher plenty of time to assess things. Now, when he opens up, Lebedev can't miss.

But at least he's trying to score points now, so that's a step up.

    Round 7

Lebedev is opening up on Kayode. Right hooks upstairs and left uppercuts on the body! Kayode inches his way to his left and puts up a perpendicular guard, right thumb by his chin with the elbow tucked in against him, left arm wrapped over his belly facing in. Kayode flips up jabs and tries a 1-2 on the body. Lebedev dances out of reach and makes Kayode miss a few jabs just with footwork going diagonally backward and to either side. Lebedev blocks a HUGE looping right on his crossed arms, then scurries away from the ropes as Kayode moves in. Step back and BIG SOUTHPAW COUNTER ONE-TWO BY LEBEDEV! KAYODE DOWN HARD! Smoger counts in his face as Kayode stumbles into a corner. 45 seconds left. Double jab by Kayode. Lebedev boxes him at mid-range for the remainder, darting in and out with jabs on the face.

    10-8 Lebedev

    70-62 Lebedev
