I think we've just about seen Povetkins level and i can't see him improving from here, and I don't think the beating he took from Wlad did him any favours. Fury on the other hand is receiving too much credit for the Chisora win in my opinion, however he had problems towards the end of his camp which is why he wasn't in the best shape. He also didn't come out of first gear and is so young at 26 he is still improving. If the fight was to happen I think it would be 50/50, Povetkin would be eating several jabs every time he fails to land which would be often given the massive size difference, but he is really durable and hits hard enough to end the fight at any time. Very interested to see who Fury fights in February and what sort of shape he comes in. I really want to see him challenged, think he will step it up again.
He had to use an illegal manoeuvre to even KO Cunningham, couldn't knock down Vinny Maddalone once, never came close to hurting Kevin Johnson who feather fisted Chisora knocked down and throws mostly arm punches. And let's assume he didn't go all out vs Chisora, why not? Is he so afraid of his chin that he can't even commit to his punches against a feather fisted gate keeper?
Fury didn't even load up on the hook that put Cunningham out cold. Maddalone was beaten to a bloody pulp in just 5 rounds.
Fury keeps him at bay, he hurts him if Povetkin rushes in also like he did with Wlad. 8-4 UD type decision to Fury, winning the fight behind the jab.
Kevin Johnson isn't the same fighter he was. He's on a losing streak against the likes of Chisora and Charr atsch When he fought Vitali he was very good defensively, and all he did that fight was try to survive. And let's not pretend Vitali was ever a huge one punch KO artist, especially not after his comeback.
Anyone saying a 6'9 19 stone guys punches is featherfisted don't know how strength works. Fury hits much harder than Povetkin for example. There's only a few people with harder punches than Fury in the world.
Bloody pulp because he blocked punches with his face, yet Fury couldn't even drop him once, while cruiserweight Adamek with 54% KO's could :rofl
I don't know which mod does that but I have been banned for saying things about him too. I agree with you on this as well I know Povetkin just beat Takam but Fury and him are supposed to have a behind closed doors fight which Fury knocked him out in. I think Fury, if he uses his brain, just has too much and wins on points.
Povetkin hits considerably harder than Fury. He has explosive power and great punching technique. Fury throws low torque arm punches. Watch Povetkins knockouts of Takam and Charr, then watch any of Fury's **** poor KO's of considerably lesser quality opposition.
Let's not forget most people on here at the time felt Marco Huck was robbed against Povetkin. Povetkin is a good fighter but Fury has to go into this one a favourite for me. Fury could win this by KO or on points but I could only really see Povetkin winning by KO.
