Fury would fight Povetkin tomorrow. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/boxing/tyson-fury-hits-out-at-alexander-91396 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5lH0xZSGV4
He wouldn't even fight Pulev or Ustinov. Fury would get absolutely destroyed by Povetkin and he knows it.
Disagree there, Sir. Povetkin has proper boxing training from early age on. Huge difference in talent, speed, body coordination, punching power. Povetkin would outbox Chisora and stop him late. Due to Povetkins laziness and Chisoras workrate he'd probably lose 3-4 rounds though, but he'd def. win the fight IMO. Just too huge a difference in class, skill and power.
Team Fury said they would have had a closed doors fight with Carlos Takam before the rematch with Chisora. It happened some months ago. the outcome isn't known, but Takam got sparked in his recent match, while Fury looks in great shape and mentally undefeated.
So how come he took a fight nobody gave him a chance of winning against Haye. What sort of sense does that make? Ducks a fight to take a harder fight:huh You're talking gibberish
In terms of offensive ability an punching technique I'd agree with you he is far better in that regard. But Chisora is naturally bigger, stronger and has far better head movement. Of course none of that would help much against Povetkin as he is not facing a boxer trying to create distance but a superior inside fighter that would welcome him in. It's a matter of styles. I can see Chisora doing better against boxers that Povetkin could struggle with but in an actual fight against Povetkin, Chisora is at a style disadvantage.
He was getting his payday in that fight! He wasn't supposed to win, but he would have cashed out all the same. 5 frickin' million British ponds! He was not going to get anything near that amount of money against Pulev (in wich he was the underdog too) or in a possible fight with Povetkin. That's what makes all the difference. They are fighting for money, or the way to get to it. If the way to get to it is about as hard as the fight for the payday itself most fighters won't take it. Therefor Fury didn't take the Pulev fight, and he sure as hell won't take the Povetkin bout.
Yeah Ustinov took that fight on a weeks notice, Fury didn't. His Uncle passed away in October, the fight was supposed to happen in July :nut
Povetkin knocks out both Fury and Chisora. In fact, taking out the winner of that fight would be a logical step for AP if he's serious about pursuing a Wlad rematch.
So why the hell would he duck a 5million paypay? You're talking jibbersh worse than the other guy. Haye ducked that fight twice because he knew he'd be beaten. His actions says more about the situation than your opinion. Fury was going to smash Haye to bits and he knew it. Cunningham sparred Fury and he said the same.
Fury could easily do what Tackam did for the first 6 for the full 12. And Povetkin would find it much harder to land those short hooks on Fury. Povetkin was lost in thefirst half of that fight. He wouldn't stand a chance against Fury.
