Alexander Ustinov against the best, how does he do?

Haye, the #7th ranked HW in the world is downgraded to a Barrett like gatekeeper.

Haye ran like hell from Wlad, bet on himself to stop Audley in 3, demolished and old, but resilient Ruiz, and outpointed Valuev.

But Haye is still a far better fighter than Ustinov. Give him some time. A fight with Grant, Arreola, Tua, or someone of that caliber, a B level fighter and we'll see if he's ready to step into contention.

Ustinov is a K2 fighter....I doubt he'll fight either Wlad or Vitali. Besides, Ustinov is way to slow anyway.

He's in better shape than Valuev, and has a **** load more power and ring IQ than Valuev. Look how far Valuev got by Sauerlands careful positioning.

Ustinov can have a decent chance once Vitali steps down.

 

I would think that K2 would position Ustinov for the vacant WBC title upon Vitos reitrment, soas Wlad would have a guaranteed unification bout to look forward to.

God forbid someone like Fury picked it up and held it hostage like Haye did with the WBA. Let's hope Suleiman don't pull some WBA type **** and strip the WBC titlist a few hours before the fight like they did Chagaev prior to his KO loss to Wlad.:think

Actually Chagaev wasn't stripped until after the fight, however the WBA refused to sanction the bout because Sauerland bought the title. Whole situation would've blown up in the WBA's face had Chagaev won.

Banks - Ustinov for WBC when Vitali retires (And Vitali dont lose) for the WBC? Then winner against Wlad? :think Banks is sitting on the NABF belt. The WBCs North American Championship.

 

Ustinov has gone from a young mean slim punishing K1 fighter, to an old slow plodding tired did I mention slow? overweight K2 fighter, he's old too old coulda been decent but too late no doubt, not to mention his best weapon was knees and in boxing, well...

 

Once he does the business against Pulev then the World's his oyster. Ustinov KO's Pulev late.
