Alexander Ustinov vs. Jason Gavern RBR

Round 2

Gavern circles left and tries to avoid that slow roaming left jab of Ustinov's. Gavern has his hands spread several inches to try and slap it aside on the way in. Ustinov is giving up on the jab and just pressing in on Gavern, trying to squeeze him from the sides like a vice. Gavern keeps wriggling free. Ustinov catches Gavern ducking out with a jab to the top of the head. WILD HOOK-2 combo by Gavern leaping up off his toes at Ustinov. Another clinch. Ustinov carries Gavern to the ropes, and Gavern flurries hard to try and knock him back and buy some room to breathe. Big right hand by Ustinov, partially blocked but sends Gavern reeling into the ropes. Gavern is pawing at his nose. Diving right to the body by Gavern misses, and he ducks under a slow Ustinov jab. Diving right to the body by Gavern now leads to a clinch. Break. Ustinov tries to get slick, darting in on bent left knee and flicking a jab and then leaning back with his hand held low. WTF. More hugging, spinning, ugly flailing. Ustinov leans Gavern into the ropes. Gavern flurries out of another clinch, landing a right and a hook to the jaw while throwing straight up over his own head.

Round 3

Clinch. Gavern gets his melon entrenched in the sweaty, fleshy bog of Ustinov's pit. Freedom, thanks to the ref. Sweet but brief. More clinching. More leaning by Ustinov. Gavern is shoved over the top rope and bashes his way off with a big overhand right - with the ropes ironically giving him extra leverage to load up on it. Ustinov seems indignant about being hit in the face and takes a step back. More shoving and leaning, and again Gavern has to power-flurry his way off the ropes. Ustinov tries a simple combo stepping in, a high jab and a plunging right to the body. Gavern keeps signaling to the ref, maybe trying to call attention to a repeated foul, and also pawing at his own face. Ustinov might be butting him or rubbing some arm bone in his face, but it doesn't look like anything flagrant. Gavern keeps ducking under Ustinov's jab and rolling his shoulder, tossing up his own. Clubbing, pounding combo to the back by Ustinov.

I could definitely see giving Jason the third and having him up 29-28 at this point..

 

Round 4

Ustinov pushes his jab and clubs over the top with his right. Gavern backs up toward the ropes, jabbing up at Ustinov's flabby F-cups from a crouch. Ustinov attempts some "body shots", really just wide under-handed slaps from full arm's length away. Lots more clinching, Ustinov pushing down on Gavern's head. Wild left hooks and rights windmilled by Gavern, who's looking tired and getting caught with more Ustinov jabs now. Ustinov keeps pushing down on him and smothering him against the ropes, exacerbating his growing energy problem. Ustinov is landing lots of clubbing shots - most of them rabbit punches but some scoring clean (although they're set up by rabbit punches)
