Round 12 Charr 10-9 Close 114-113 Pretty close and fun fight, could have gone either way, Ustinov should have kept his hands closer to his chin, the dude ate 7-8 good hooks by Charr in the 7th and he didn't bring his hands up, Charr put up a decent performance, he picked his shots, fought smart and scored a knockdown... so yeah Charr will now face highly avoided challenger Fres Oquendo in 2018.
Woot, Charr won! Couldn't be happier. It was a bit of a hometown decision but a lot of the rounds were nothing rounds with Charr being the come forward aggressor so I'm not too upset it went his way. Couldn't believe he knocked Ustinov down though. Either Charr hits a lot harder than we suspect (Danny Williams claimed he hit deceptively hard) or Ustinov's chin's cracked. Just hope Charr doesn't get busted for roids afterwards. He looked like he might have juiced up for this one.
Wilder vs. Charr is too big of a clash for the feeble human mind to comprehend. This content is protected
This content is protected Nothing wrong with a YT video for those who missed it after the fact right? I had thought the fight was meant to be an elim and the winner was to fight Fres for the reg title. What's going on with Fres? Why has he sat in top five position for years without doing diddles? Guess I should update the list o champs. I'll be editing the colored champions anyway. I've always thought Charr was a lot better than advertised. There were little snatches of real quality in amongst the plodding, gloves up, feather dust punching that he customarily showed. He just never seemed to put it together. Maybe all the stuff he went through in recent years was a wake up call as he seems to have got himself into much better shape and appears to fight with a lot more venom. I just hope it's not a one off.
