Alexander vs Matthyse: A close fight is not a robbery

    alexander won 3 to 4 rounds tops. He was punching air and glove all night.

    um it was mos def a robbery...Don King, Homecooking, etc alexander showed heart but landed almost nothing of consequence and matthysse certainly did.

    Some judges score fights based on the style they think is the most effective in their view. Some like aggressors and some like ring generalship. I also said the fight could have went either way.

    Alexander should be ashamed of himself. He lost big time. They should have a rematch in neutral territory, with neutral judges and ref. If the fight had been 12 rounds, Alexander would have been knocked out!!!

    This is what we're complaining about. You judge based on who's beating the **** out of the other guy more effectively.

    And running away is not ring generalship. Alexander isn't quite a runner, but ring generalship seems to be one of his biggest weaknesses. Remember how much of the Kotelnik fight he spent on the ropes getting battered? That's called poor ring generalship. Matthysse has good ring generalship. You can be aggressive and also have good ring generalship. In fact, it's more common that the aggressor controls the ring than the other way around.
