    This.

    Floyd's statement...

"The negotiations for my fight are almost done. The front runner is IBF Champion Devon Alexander. It’d be a unification bout at welterweight."

    ..basically translates to:

"You [Guerrero's team] better hurry up and agree to what we've proposed, because we've got 'other' people in line"

Alexander's name is just being used to make Guerrero settle for the peanuts he deserves.

But with that said, it is a huge move to cancel the Brook fight all together just to be in the 'run-in' for a possible Mayweather fight :think. What a ****, Floyd is. Postponing and cancelling fights that have nothing to do with him as and when he pleases. Feel so sorry for Brook.

Why dont the organisation investigate the injury? especially when it is relatively close to the actual fight.

The whole mandatory is ridiculous, I can uderstand that if a bigger fight can be made then mandatory will wait, but to have the fight scheduled tickets sold etc.

They should investigate injury clains like this? Easy to do...take an x-ray/scan simples. Might stop or reduce it happening?

I cant see this fight going ahead, Alexander was **** on 24/7 with Bradley and that fight was a stinker. If it did go ahead the IBF will not strip Alexander they will want the PFP number 1 to carry their belt.

I think Floyd will fight Guerrero but we shall see..........

The pinnacle and dream of any fighter fighting at the lower weights is not to become a world champion, its to fight Floyd Mayweather and make one-off mega money. The FACT that an arranged IBF mandatory title fight was all set for a date, between a mandatory Kell Brook vs. the champion, Devon Alexander, now looks of, because Alexander got the call, is nothing short of a disgrace. So much for a bicep injury, complete and utter b*ll****! It was just a get out of jail card! If this is the result of Alexander pulling out, a fight with Mayweather, then I'm sorry, but I've fallen out of love with the sport of boxing, same as football. At this rate I wont have a sport to watch at all.

How can they just leave a mandatory Kell Brook in the gutter when the fight was signed sealed and about to deliver? Unbelievable Jeff! Money team jumped in because they knew the fight was more relevant and sellable now, but it HAD to be done now, and not after a Kell Brook fight.

I hope for Kell, that this is BS, but why would Mayweather announce such bullcrap? Are they doing it just to look bad boys and keep in the media when they are not set for a fight? I don't know, but if this is the case, then its a disgrace.

I lean towards it being bull**** and hope it is, but in this sport I'm never sure.

Bloody disgrace if it turns out to be true though.

Guerrero has knocked back a $2.5 million offer.

From what I've heard this Alexander offer is real.

Think so mate, they had some documentary anyway might have been a behind the scenes type show. They also had a HBO Face off and Bradley said the fight would be "like Hagler v Hearns"!!!
