This fight has flown under the radar. However, it is a unification bout in what has become a very good JWW divsion. I think this is an easy fight to call. Urango was easily outboxed by Berto and Hatton. Expect Alexander to do the same. Urango has a puncher's chance, but if Alexander can stay away from that big right hand he should cruise to a decision.
Urango is a tough but crude guy who will find it difficult to land on Alexander cleanly. Devon should box his way to a wide UD win.
tough one to choose really. Devon should be able to outbox Urango, but Urango is an absolute animal with crushing hooking power. Should be good. When is this fight btw?
This prediction may very well come back to bite me in the ass, but **** it. I'm calling a Urango knockout. I've seen at least 10 of Alexander's fights and have been pretty much underwhelmed every time I've watched him. I can't for the life of me understand why people believe he has Mayweather-esque potential. This dude strikes me as being mediocre in every sense of the word. Urango is no great shakes, but I still think he's strong, durable, and powerful enough to wear down and catch Alexander, who I find to be ordinary.
I agree with Maxx. I'll admit I've been off on A LOT of fighters (Christian Mijares you dirty *****) but this is one guy I feel like I have a good grasp on. I just don't think Alexander is all that special and I've been following his career since Chop Chop Corley. Urango wears him down, drags him into deep waters and then devours him.
I got news for you guys, you don't need to be special to beat Urango. Berto used a gameplan that consisted of running, holding, and throwing one punch at a time and he easily beat Urango. Alexander is a good fighter with a good trainer. Urango is a one armed slugger who telegraphs his shots. Urango is the same guy who needed a gift to beat Ben Rabah. Unless Alexander goes in there trying to brawl, he should win a relatively comfortable decision.
Wouldn't necessarily disagree with that. I think this is more in reference to people who think Alexander is on the same level of Bradley. This was more of a general argument. There are quite a few people here who think he's a future star and much like Maxx, I see a very ordinary guy who isn't on the level of the top guys. The situations aren't comparable. One is a fight at 147, the other is at 140. We'll see. I'm more than willing to be convinced, it's not like I'm completely writing him off just yet. I just have seen a lot of Alexander and I haven't seen anything that says "This guy can compete with Timothy Bradley."
