Well you know Sdunek is a bum training and Alekseev is Russian so Jisi just cannot get behind him. Seriously Alekseev is one of, if not the, most promising cruiserweight prospect out there and he just starched a heavy in three, and not a bum heavy but a serviceable journeyman.
Guillermo Jones too old yet Arslan (who was just stomped by Guillermo) would give Alexeev a good fight?:huh Is it because your Ring Magazine still has Arslan ranked so high and Guillermo hardly ranked:yep It almost seems politically incorrect to root for Nicaraguans, Colombians, and Panamanians these days:think
Just look at the guy. You can see he's even small for the modern cruiserweight limit. 190 would have been a much better limit for him, and he already carries extra weight at 200. Reminds me a little of a larger southpaw Kessler, FWIW.
Most of his fights have been against guys with winning records-atypical of young fighters. Sure Calloway has been beaten quickly before but look who you mentioned two World Champs and they where HW's not CW's.
I like Alekseev because he is Russian and had a great Amateur career. But you are right Sdunek is a bum. Alekseev is a very good prospect but now he had to become a good professional boxer with better defense, Training for 12 rounds etc. I hope Alekseev stay with his old Amteur Trainer so Sdunek could not complete ruin him. I do not understand why Russians and Ukrainians should train with a german EX DDRTrainer. They have good and better trainers from there own country. When they need help to become better professionals, they should choose an American Coach, because these coaches know much more about professional boxing.
I read about a year ago that Alekseev is a fan of Kessler and tries to emulate him in his training. I can see some things there such as the hook of the jab and the flowing uppercuts etc. I'm looking forward to his next fight.
Thanks for the vid, ill check that site more now. Also a good stoppage, no need to bash the guy to death. Props to the ref.
