Alexei Egorov is a 6'1 23 year old Heavyweight Amateur. Born in Obninsk, Kaluga Oblast, Russia. He's trained by Russian coach Vadim Mezentceva and got his start in the Quantum School of Boxing in Obninsk. He won the Gold Medal at the European Championships in Minsk by defeating talented Azerbaijani Teymur Mammadov. This incredibly aggressive volume punching amateur Russian has a ton of potential already at the young age of 23 he's had two matches against the very talented Italian Clemente Russo, which resulted in two close MD wins for the Russian . He's currently fighting for AIBA but hopefully sooner or later he can make the jump to the pro ranks, because his vicious pressure fighting style (with decent defense) is just what The Heavyweight or Cruiserweight Division depending on which way he goes, needs. He's like a Heavyweight Ruslan Provodnikov just more talented. So Check Out Alexei The Kaluga Bull in Action. :deal::deal::deal::deal:

The Ruslan comment is a real disservice to how this guy works. Output is similar, but the delivery is way different.

Hey I said "but more talented", but I know what you're saying I thought twice about it when I wrote it.

One match-up I'd really like to see, and we very well might, be it at the Games next year (Egorov is already in, securing a berth in Russo II) or in APB where they are both currently signed and competing in the same division, is Egorov vs. Tervel Pulev, kid brother of Kubrat and 2012 London bronze medalist at 91kg.

Their styles meshing would be :scaredas:

I thought I'd read he was guaranteed a spot via Russo II. :think

From the sound of it, he and Tischenko have been evenly matched in the past so it could go either way even if they do have a box-off.

I'll have a look myself, they're both in the OP.

CST80 mentioned that he thought one encounter was close and could've gone Egorov's way.
