Yeah getting the rounds now...very very sad. I dont think there is a fighter who is as universally a favorite among boxing fans as Alexis was.
Very very sad. I remember reading back in the 90's that he was having a hard time and that he had contemplated suicide. He actually got to the point of holding a gun to himself then. I thought he had got his life back on track. RIP.
Exactly. This couldn't have happened to a nicer guy than Alexis, and I just read that he was notable for his fight with Aaron Pryor. Sad thing is, he's notable for so much more than that night, inside and out of the ring. The boxing fans understand who've they've just lost.
The only ****in news thats ever incorrect is good news recently, Im afraid this is true mate :verysad
No confirmation of suicide though. Only that he ws found dead. The article was sad though. http://assets.espn.go.com/boxing/col...am/612133.html
is it common or unusual to have been shot through the heart. i dont want to call foul play becuase he did have a mild self destructive side to him but he seemed to be relativly successful and was a decent politician form what i heard. do you think politics might of been involved in this. either way a great man not boxer has died.
........... this really does shake people up. He's not just a great fighter, he's not just a brilliant warrior, he's a champ in the minds of so many who never realised how much they respected him. A quiet man in the scheme of things, especially here down under, yet he is such an amazing internationally recognised and praisable figure. A fighter of great words relating to any arguement in which his name is raised. I dont think a negative word has been written on this site, with genuine meaning. Amazing, sad and incredible to think this has happened. R.I.P LEGEND IN THE GAME LEGEND OF THE GAME LEGEND AFTER THE GAME LEGENDARY FOR THE GAME, AS THE GAME IS LEGENDARY FOR HIM.
