Cool, a grand effort. What was his boy like? Sound, clearly, does he know his boxing? Did you talk to him by e-mail or did you get him on the phone?
Thanks. Just by email, really cooperative. Full of enthusiasm about his father and him being remembered, provided me with alot of info/quotes to use. I'm not sure how much of his boxing he knows, never really got to chat with him, but he says his father loved boxing so would presume he knows abit. I got a lovely email from him thanking me for the article, and saying that he really liked it. Meant so much to me.
I believe they lived in other countries so I was wondering if they were close. I remember after Hagler went to Italy that his relationship with his kids was very strained and as a father I lost some respect for Hagler so Im curious about Arguello's relationship.
Thanks, indeed. I know Arguello was not entirely faithful to his sons mother and remarried afew times afterwords. But they both lived in Miami when he brought up his son.
i remember arguello beating watt, boza edwards and boom boom mancini and i think all were stunned as to how nice a bloke he was.plus they all lost. he had the most accurate right cross i've seen and he made boxing look simple.not so !!
