Alexis Arguello v. Eusebio Pedroza

Wow, a great fantasy match -up!. Two ATG's. Arguello deserved every accolade he received during his illustrious career. But you know what? so did Pedroza , but he didn't receive nearly as much. I can think of many scenarios were each fighter could win. But the majority of wins in my mind would go to Arguello.
Arguello's jab, power, and body punching ability is the difference, especially in a 15rd fight.
In my mind I see Pedroza brilliantly keeping Arguello off balance with counter punching and subtle, but effective movement and angles. But Arguello would be "Putting money in the bank" by pounding Pedroza's body , slowly grinding Pedroza down. In a 12 rd fight, Pedroza could hold on to win. But in a 15rd fight, Arguello wins 8 out of 10 times.. Arguello's power and body punching being the difference.

 

Arguello by UD or late TKO in a very competitive fight.

 

Arguello was the best at making adjustments and figuring guys out ...but Pedroza would be a very hard puzzle to solve ...if they fight a trilogy I favor Arguello
