I think that arguello definitely beat Hatton, Bradley, Holt, Malinagi and Torres

Witter could be a problem though.

Alexis Arguello would have a chance against ANY of them. He was capable of finishing off anyone.

the only problems Witter would cause Arguello may be psychological, after Arguello bludgeons him to death.

Bradley showed Witter is suseptable to over hand rights and I think Arguello could exploit that.

Not to mention Witter's general lack of any notable ability beyond European level.

Witter a problem for Arguello?:rofl :rofl

Arguello aint Vivian Harris bro. Witter is way too sloppy, and his stamina is too suspect to have beaten Arguello. Alex would have found the holes in his defense, and knocked him out brutally.

Arguello would beat everybody currently at 135-140. Theres none today at 135-140 right now who's on the level of Pryor, so Arguello would have nothing to be challenged by.

The fight I woulda loved to see is Arguello vs Juan Diaz. Oh boy what a slaughter that would be!

Lucky for him Witter isnt a quality boxer. And Witter fades after 5-6 rounds. Arguello had some of the best stamina in history.

Witter had one good night in his career, when he iced Harris(who's never been top quality) other than that he's never been too impressive. CERTAINLY never shown the goods that he could beat a great fighter like Arguello.

    Harsh.

He's a good fighter, a world level fighter. It's his akwardness that makes him such a nightmare stylistically though.

Witter lost against Bradley past his prime at 34-35 and beat Harris past his prime too. In his prime he was avoided like the plague by Hatton who he once offered to fight for free and another time on 7days notice. He was also Mayweather's mandatory. He has wins over 3 other belt holders in Ndou, Harris and Kotelnik despite been avoided

He is also very slippery and at his best when an opponent comes to him where he can use Hamed (his ex sparring partner and trained by the same trainer) like power counters. When Witter lands he does serious damage. I see him getting counters off on Arguello and doing damage. down the stretch Arguello would take over with his straight shots but it is a close tough 1 to pick

So which version of Witter exactly was "prime" then? The one that ran from, and got schooled by Judah? That Witter wasnt 35.

Witter is a joke! Its true Hatton avoided him, and maybe he woulda beaten Hatton, but Hatton is no Arguello!

This fight would have ended with Witter on his back looking at the lights, and Arguello's hand raised.

    Juan Diaz?

A come foward pressure fighter without any real power?

Imo, Diaz is made to order for Arguello.....with Arguello's height and reach, and just all-around better skills, I'd think of it as a mismatch!

    Imo Arguello brutalizes Diaz!

I know. I cant stand Diaz, so I would have liked to have seen it. Or Juan Diaz against Corrales. Yet another slaughter.

Prime Witter was around 2002-2005, a green version of Witter won 4-5 rounds against a very good version of Judah on 7days notice, in a very technical contest

Arguello didnt beat anyone of significance at 140 himself and stylistically is the sort of fighter Witter thrives on, aggressive coming forward in straight lines with countering opportunities. Having said that the better foundamentals of Arguello, his pressure and power may win out.
