Do you guys really think he used an ilegal substance so he could defeat "El Flaco Explosivo" Arguello.

Something was going on with that bottle. But he probably could have won without it. No specially mixed bottles were in evidence in the second bout and Pryor won that one even more decisively than the first.

Arguello was one of the greatest featherweights and super-featherweights of all time. He was a strong lightweight too. He happened to go all the way to Jr. Welter and ran into one of the strongest Jr. Welters of all time.

I dont think theres such a thing that if you drink it you get a boost in under a minute. I believe its impossible. black bottle or not black bottle I think pryor would have had the exact same outcome

Don't know. The stupid commission ****ed it up so we'll never know. Pryor ravaged Arguello in the rematch, but Arguello was older and smaller anyway and took a bad beating in the first fight.

A scumbag like Panama Lewis doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt though.

There's no magic substance that will make you a better fighter. But... there is stuff that can give you an energy boost.

Panama Lewis said he wanted the bottle he "mixed." There is no "mixture" that would be legal. Anything other than water is illegal. So yes, there was some kind of illegal substance at ringside. However, I very seriously doubt if it made any difference.

Pound for pound, prime for prime, Arguello was a better and more accomplished champion than Pryor ever dreamed of becoming. Pryor caught Alexis on his way down. He was two divisions over his best weight, and his best days had already come and gone. With over 80 fights, dozens of wars, and 3 world titles to his credit, he gave one of the best junior welterwieghts of all time one hell of a fight, and got beat. The black bottle had little ot nothing to do with it.

    So true.

  9. If there was anything in that bottle then the reality is it would have taken at least 20 minutes to ingest and therefore have any real effect on Pryor's performance.
