The prime weight for them both probably.

I'd go with Arguello as the better technician but Nelson had a fair bit in common with Pryor

What a dream fight. How can anyone not love both men as fighters. With that said, I have go with AA but man would the Professor give him a run for his money.

Arguello would knock him out, stop him, in 8 or 9 rounds.
The deciding factor would be the way that Arguello went to the body. He was very adept at throwing a right hand so that you could slip it...then laying his arm across your shoulders while he hit you with a left hook. He also was very effective using a right uppercut to the body when guys pressed him and got to where they thought they wanted to be. Those types of things make you stand up straighter which opens you up to left hooks and right hands.

I think Alexis hit his stride at Super-feather, very few fighters could beat him at that weight.

Arguello was a hell of a feather, terrific power but struggled with Olivares who Nelson would walk thru like he did with Wilfredo Gomez.

Azumah has the edge in strength and durability on par with which he´s going to need. Nelson´s power is certainly going to be a factor but the Nicaraguan warrior was teak tough too.

I see Nelson taking the early rounds but Alexis would started to pour it on from the 6th, as noted by greynotssoold Arguello had a terrific body attack.

I remember the right uppercuts to Mancini body ,Ray took the early rounds before being taken apart.

I see a similar fight with Alexis taking a deserved decision.

Arguello definately stopping Azumah at Super-feather.

Gotta go with Arguello. But Nelson is a live underdog. Great fight

This is about as good as it gets in boxing. Arguello was so dangerous every second to end the fight early. They called Nelson the Professor partially because of his versatility.
Azumah had a good jab and could box but I don't know that he had the speed to outbox Arguello on the outside. Nelson's chin was very good but if Alexis lines you up it almost doesn't matter.
    Arguello by tko late

Arguello stops him late. Good action fight though.

Another vote for Arguello but he's gonna have to fight tooth and nail to win it against a guy like Nelson. I think he'll have trouble with Nelson's relentless pressure and versatility but I think he has enough firepower and technical prowess to be able to pull it out and perhaps even stop him late. What a fight that would have been.
