Both in their primes, who wins this match up?
Too tough to predict for me. This would have been skills and will at its finest executed with precise accurate ferocious deadly combinations.

Sooner or later Arguello is going to hurt Morales. Particularly if it goes 15 rounds.

This is an interesting one, Morales has the speed and footwork on Arguello while being his technical equal to outbox him, but he often let his opponent hit him too much and Arguello would be 1 of the best punchers he'd ever face. The Floyd Mayweather Sr version of Morales maybe does a smarter defensive job here. Either way a Morales UD or Arguello KO

I'm sure he would, but whenever Morales gets hurt instictively he fires back on all cylinders to put his opponent back in their place

I love Morales .. he was as brave as any fighter that ever lived ... he had as much heart as any fighter that ever lived ... however, at 130 Arguello was a class above and eventually would have stopped him ... a fantastic match up but one that leans to Alexis at the end of the day ...

Arguello is one of the few guys I'd expect to stop Erik every single time they fight, whatever weight.

I like Morales.... I will always like him, but in this fight I can't see him winning.... He might have a chance at a 12 rounds fight, but other than that he would lose.....

I think AA would beat him by KO in around 10/12 rounds..... Morales was a warrior and being a warrior vs Arguello would be his downfall.

I kind of get the impression that Powerpuncher picks modern-day fighters over old-timers almost out of spite, almost as if because he is just THAT irritated by old guys saying things like "the old times were just so much better." It's like he's trying to make a point in that direction, but being too obvious about it, so the effect is generally lost on his audience.

I'm sorry, no. Morales does not beat Arguello. No.

Arguello simply had too much for Morales IMO. In fact, I don't see anywhere that Morales has a real advantage in this fight - Arguello is basically a bigger and far more powerful version of him. I think Arguello should be able to overpower Morales to a clear decision or late stoppage.

Where exactly do you see Morales being "quicker" or "technically superior" to Arguello here?

In fact, comparing the footage above, I'd say Arguello may actually be the quicker and more precise of the two.
