Arguello beats Morales every time. It would always be a close fight but Arguello has that little bit more.
A pure overpowering by a fighter notches above the other. Arguello breaks Morales in 1/2 with body shots and puts Eric down inside 7
A brutal, crushing knockout would be the end result,...along with extensive facial and tissue damage.
A pure overpowering by a fighter notches above the other. Arguello breaks Morales in 1/2 with body shots and puts Eric down inside of 7.
I can't see ANY case being made for Morales beating Arguello. None. 1. He wasn't in Arguello's league in general. 2. The style matchup is terrible for him. Morales was easy to hit, and didn't have great stamina. That's not a good combination against one of the best, and most accurate punchers in history, who also happened to have all time great stamina. Arguello breaks Morales down, and stops him late. I can't see it ending any other way. Alexis was just a level above.
Surprising to see four likes in 24 hours on an 8 year old post. And 8 years hasn't changed my mind. Arguello late round stoppage.
Eric loved his firefights but he was a great boxer when he wanted to be. However, Alexis had all the skills necessary to beat Eric. I love Eric but Alexis stops him late. And Alexis stops MAB late as well.
Alexis Arguello stops Erik Morales, in much the same way he took down, Ray Boom Boom Mancini, in 1981. Erik tries several times to exchange with Alexis, but it proves fatal for him, as Arguello just hits way too hard and is a lot sharper, landing that punishing right hand. Alexis stops Morales in round 12.
