I'd give the edge to Arguello. Fenech's strength and pressure could pose trouble for him (especially at this weight, where I don't think Arguello was at his strongest yet), but I think Arguello's power and precise punching win the day in the end. Arguello by decision or perhaps late stoppage after a ferocious, bloody battle.
A boxer-puncher is at a massive advantage against a swarming pressure fighter who is hittable. Arguello's precise punching and power can halt the Fenech ferocity and earn a late stoppage.
I just watched Arguello vs Leonel Hernandez at 126. Devastating stuff. Fenech would do a better job closing the gap but he'd take some huge shots. Arguello TKO 8.
Olivares and Escalera were both able to bull him around a fair bit, and even Marcel did a few times in their fight. The question really is for how long would Fenech be able to keep up his bulling tactics, and what price would he pay for them.
I wouldn't say a complete slaughter. Fenech gives Arguello a rough fight. But in the end, I cant think of a worse style matchup for Fenech than Alexis. The end result would be Jeff on his back.
