130 was Arguello's best weight and he was in his prime, while Chavez was still young at 130 but with his relentless style and inside fighting could he take advantage of Arguello's lack of close range fighting skills? Or would Arguello's length and power be enough to catch a swarming Chavez coming in and put him out
Prime Chavez was iron chinned. It would be similar to the Pryor fight, with Chavez throwing punches in bunches, and Arguello's power not able to dent him.
Great, great thread, Rod. Very provocative. Well done. On paper you would think this is a win for Chavez, but he was pre-prime and definitely not the finished product. However. Alexis was prime there and in atg territory at 130. Cannot make up my mind. Keep going back and forth. Nicely done Rod.
