Alexis Arguello vs. Meldrick Taylor at 140

Taylor would have won a decision.

 

Arguello could score a KO & likely would over 15 rds but in a 12 rder, I see Taylor outpointing him, his speed is far greater than AAs & he was great at this weight... Arguello was good too at 140 but obviously not peak, that might be enough to swing things Taylor`s way.

Taylor's speed would be too much of a hurdle for Arguello to overcome, he takes a strong Unanimous decision.

 

Loved Meldrick and if he fought a disciplined fight he could take this. But he was too combative for his own good. It took Pryor's amazing effort and maybe some extra help to beat Arguello. I just think Meldricks low hands, avaialble chin, Arguello's height/reach and great timing would find the mark eventually. Arguello late tko.

 

Taylor would start out fast, but Arguello would probably come alive later on and tear into the Philly kid. I'd want to see Meldrick win this one, but I just can't see it. Taylor would be quick and win some rounds with his speed, but the kid was too damn stubborn. I see Arguello planting those long accurate punches to blast Taylor away in the late rounds.

 

Arguello would fall behind at first, but would eventually catch Taylor and swat him like a fly.

 

Arguello by late stoppage. His pinpoint power punching would catch up to Taylor late.
