I'm a huge Arguello fan (Like Pea too)...But I think Whitaker's speed, defense, southpaw stance, and footwork see him past Arguello...Arguello will land some single shots, but won't be able to follow up with anything meaningful.
    Whitaker UD.

Whitaker UD. Stylistically this is one of the worst matches for Alexis imo. Whitaker is a great fighter too, make no bones about it.

Arguello is on the short list of my favorite fighters but I gotta take Pea here. He will keep Alexis a step behind him

As great as Arguello was, I think he'd get absolutely clowned in this one. Terrible stylistic matchup for him.

Arguello was just too slow on his feet for a fight like this. Look at how much trouble he had with Vilomar Fernandez...and Whitaker was certainly far better than Fernandez ever was. Arguello was a great fighter, but this matchup would be all wrong for him.

Similar to Greg Haugen fight, obviously Arguello is better than Greg, but it would still be a shut out on all the cards none the less.

I really can't see Arguello being shut out by anybody ever.

Is this a 12, or 15 round fight?

You're correct in the sense that Pea did take of rounds at times. He could get caught of balance for flash knockdown. So yes, it could happen. What I am saying is, when Pea is engaged and trying to win that round, whether it be 8 or 12 etc, I'm saying he'll win those rounds. He just has the style to land more and while not getting hit and clearly win the rounds.

I also think that as good as a boxer Pea is Arguello is going to win some rounds on his own merit. I think Pea would be Arguello's kryptonite stylistically but we are still talking one of the greatest ever and i'd be surprised if he didn't force Pea to go into survival mode some rounds as he (Arguello) tried to heap the pressure on.

    Could be wrong.

Arguello won't make life easy for pea in the fight at all. It definitely isn't a shut out. Alexis will force the fight but finds whitaker to fast, to slippery to gain a good foot hold. But whitaker has to be totally on the ball here and focus. Pea gets a slight unanimous Dec but he has to fight for it.
