How do you see the fight going? I see Floyd winning the first few rounds, but towards the end of the early round Arguello starts to take over, and in the end, just ends up controlling the entire fight by a wide margin. Hurting Floyd with his big right.

I see Floyd winning a decision - outboxing the slower Arguello who would have his moments though.

I should have known the people from the general forum would answer like this, how about the better educated people of the classic section?

You will get the same answer by most...Floyd has the style to beat Arguello. Doesn't matter if General Forum posters or Classic Forum posters are telling it to ya...

Despite the fact that my brain says that Mayweather would have been to fast and cute for Alexis (one of my favorites), my heart would surely want the class act gentleman from Nicaragua to destroy him.

That's a pretty bold statement coming from someone with a "Star Wars" avatar

Mayweather has never faced someone with the power of Arguello.
Arguello tko11 Mayweather.I think Arguello would break down Mayweather with bodyshots and finish him.If Castillo's pressure bothered Mayweather think what would Argullos pressure would do as Arguello is levels above Castillo. And remember Mayweather loves to use the shoulder roll defence so in spots he would be stationary for Arguello to hit.And it only takes 1 punch from Arguello to end it.People forget Arguello was a devestating bodypuncher.

Hmmmm.... I'll give you 3 guys that are solid punchers. Corrales,Delahoya and Castillo. As much as I don't care for MAyweather, and that I am a huge fan of Arguello...these guys hit MAyweather with everything they had and Floyd didn't go down. Just can't see Arguello beating this guy ,let alone knocking him out because he had trouble with just about every pure boxer he ever faced.

An old part time boxer De La Hoya didn't hit nearly as hard as Arguelllo.
And the late Corrales was ahard hitter but not in Arguello's league;Castillo? You must be joking.

    Agreed. Arguello would get outboxed.

Probably the closest fighter Mayweather has ever fought stylewise measuring up against Arguello was Genaro Hernandez, and he stood at around 5' 10", 5' 11" as well. Technically similar.

Mayweather has always done well against tall rangey fighters at the lower weights. We all know what happened to Corrales.
