Styles make fights though. The fact that Morales could most likely take an Arguello punch(not too many) means he has a shot at winning. Especially coupled with his movement and speed.

A lot of guys that Arguello faced just couldn't handle a flush shot from him. I think Morales is a guy who could take a punch or two from him.

Maybe yes, maybe no. This is one of those agree to disagree moments.

Um yes. You can't just decide to swarm a puncher like Arguello at his best weight class.

Pryor was able to do it at 140 pounds where Arguello's power wasn't the same.

At 130 pounds you can't just get in on the inside and walk him down. He punches really hard.

When did Morales ever face a concussive type puncher resembling Alexis Arguello.
Arguello could spark a fighter completely out with just one shot, and he could put you on ***** street with something less than his best.
At 126 lbs and above, Morales wasn't capable of that.

Don't know where you get that Morales had great stamina, in fact for an upper echelon type fighter I'd rate Morales stamina is less than average. His stamina wasn't his best asset.
Stamina let Morales down in his fights with MAB and his first fight with Pacquiao.
Its what kept fighters like Guty Espadas and In jin Chi in the fight with Morales as they were outhustling him down the stretch.

    If I'd rate Arguello's stamina a 10, I'd have to rate Morales' a 5.
That's how much better Arguello's stamina was in comparison to Morales.

Arguello fought in the era of 15 rounders. He'd be licking his chops in the late rounds of fights. He thrived in them where Morales would fade.

There is just no comparison here, but I know why you would want to rate Morales higher than he deserves.
    Manny Pacquiao!!!!!

......and yes, Arguello would dismantle and spark Manny Pacquiao clean out, the first Morales fight for Pacquiao clearly demonstrates that for me.
Pacquiao's kryptonite was and is the right hand and nobody, but nobody from 126 to 140 lbs threw a better more explosive fight hand than the GREAT Alexis Arguello!

    NOBODY!!!!!!!

I call it a 50/50 fight with Arguello and Chavez.
For a fighter as tall and lanky as Arguello was, he was really good on the inside with hooks and uppercuts.
But on the inside nobody was as good or as ferocious as Julio Cesar Chavez.
Chavez just smothered and parried power shots on the inside like they were nuisance mosquito bites. Just watch his fight with Edwin Rosario who carried comparable power to Arguello's.

Chavez' defense is better than Arguello's which makes me lean slightly in his favor in a mythical matchup.

Damn, what a ****ing fight that would have been, Chavez vs Arguello.
For real boxing fans, that matchup would make Mayweather vs Pacquiao look like an HBO after dark matchup.

What a ****ing WAR it would have been if they could have ever crossed paths.
I have goosebumps just thinging about it. :D

Pacquiao has scored numerous 1 punch KO's in his career. And numerous 1 punch flash knockdowns. As you say Arguello could spark you clean out. So could Pacquiao.

Morales took Pacquiao's power fairly well.

I don't know who for sure puncher harder (Pacquiao or Arguello), but using devastating KO's as your measuring stick is not smart. Pacquiao had them too.
