    Gomez by close decision

I think he would counter Chavez with straight punches up the middle, box effectively, and match him shot for shot when need be.

Gomez by UD. He'll box Chavez Jr, use his jab, play counter-puncher and mix in a few combinations to the head and body.

SO no hope for JCC so far. I guess he is not taking after his father. I see JCC winning this one though even though i feel like im the only one so far. How good is Gomez's chin?? JCC does have some power in his hands..

well fighters shouldnt be rushed though but yea your right he needs to step up i know nothing about his next opponent but it looks like he has a decent record. i dont know why but i have a feeling in a year or two JCC will be making a big impact in whatever division he decides to stay at. i see some talent in him but maybe its just the level of competition he has faced so far. it would be great if he was for real though.

After watching Alfonso fight the very durable Ben Tackie this evening, I Alfonso wins against Chavez; either by UD or very late stoppage. And by the way, I think Tackie was the perfect opponent for Alfonso at this point. Tackie brought the pressure all night, and Alfonso never got rattled or thrown off his fight plan. He is maturing nicely.

Gomez would be a BIG step up from the stiffs Chavez, Jr. has been fighting. And he's not that good! :nod

I'll bite the bullet on this one . . . I'll pick JCCJr.

Alfonso Gomez is not a formiable opponent for Jr. He is not so fast and can easily be countered by power punches. People seems to be under rating Jr's power.

I can see Jr softening and slowing down Gomez on the early rounds and taking him out in the later rounds.

I hope this fight happens. :D :yep

    :good

Gomez takes out JCC Jr., who has beaten absolutely nobody. Gomez is not top 15, but he is still a solid welterweight-superwelterweight fighter.

I competley disagree. Gomes keeps his hand high on defense, and if anything, is a better couinter puncher then JCCjr. So I don't know where you got the idea he can be 'easily' countered. Especially by someone on JCCjr's level. And Gomez is MILES better in skill and technique then any of the white boys JCCjr has feasted on. JCCjr also leaves himself too open when he attackes the body. Gomez and his fast hand will have target practice until JCCjr pulls a Cintron in the ring.

Basically, it's TOO HUGE a step up for JCCjr.

if jr can pull Gomez into mixing it up abit he has a slight chance. otherwise the slightly above average gomez wins
