Zamora sparked a very green Eusebio Pedroza. It was an impressive display despite Pedroza's inexperience. But I just don't think he'd get a prime Pintor out of there. I also think Pintor was an underrated boxer and would get the decision or maybe stop Zamora late in an action fight.
Zamora was a hard hitter but one dimensional. It would be a different fight to the Zarate match, but Pintor has too much smarts For Alfonso.........Pintor stoppage in the late rounds IMO
Pintor was very durable in his prime and would probably survive Zamoras early onslaught(yey im sure he would) He was also the all around better fighter, although Zamora is one of the best PFP punchers ive seen i think he might have hit harder than Zarate its just that Zarate was the better all around fighter. Im gonna go with Pintor by tko in 10 after some scary moments early in the fight Pintor takes over around 7 and hands out a whupping in the last 3 before stopping him.
Yeah, I'd probably lean towards Zamora being the hardest pure puncher at Bantam, and I have seen others say as much; Olivares, Zarate and Jofre were better in their delivery and all-round package IMO. As was Pintor, who himself packed a serious dig. There's a fight I have of Zamora.....the opponents name eludes me but he steps in for stablemate Zarate who's got flu or something, and decimates the opponent regardless; fearsome power. And on Pintor, there's a fight of his I have....can't remember the opponent, looks white with lots of red hair, think he lasts into the second and Pintor opens up, possibly with a left hook followed by a straight right and it goes straight through the kid, takes him out like a Sniper.
I'd take the 80's bamtam champ by ko in 12. I have both of their career fight sets and lived thru both, with Pintor one of my alltime fav. zamora WAS exciting and a brutal hitter, but Pintor was a fighter who just ground a guy down. :smoke
Pintor takes this about the eleventh round, he gets the goods on Zamora after feeling his power early, taking a knockdown, but coming back strong.
I know the names of these two ;-) Thanomchit SUkhothai; a deaf mute who was given no chance going in but was game for a few rounds. Look out for his terrible Ali impression and primitive offence. I think Zamora is a bit better than advertised, but there are subtle nuances Pintor had that leads me to believe he could elude many of the stronger punches coming his way, and he was tough enough to absorb the others. Zamora starts well and Pintor begins slowly as per their M.O.'s, but it's all Pintor after about the fifth. His studied, intelligent pressure wilts Zamora.
The Pedroza Zamora beat wasn't even a shell of what he became. He was also stopped by a nobody next outing. Pintor's the better fighter and takes a great shot as proven by what he sustained up a division vs the lightning bolts of Gomez. If he can withstand Wilfredo for 14 i can't see Zamora getting him out of there. Pintor would slowly overwhelm Zamora.
Pintor in a brutal fight by ko in 7. Pintor had a great beard, he took the best of Zarate and Gomez and would wear out partyboy Zamora to the body and kayo him with a right followed by a left. They count to 10 over Alfonso.
This fight is one that I would not bet the house on. This comes down to a fine line. Pintor was a slooooooow starter, who thrived on 15 round fights. Zamora was a racehorse out of the gate. If it went past 3 rounds Pintor would be warming up, and it would be his fight after about 7. But he would have to survive some bombs in the process of getting there and Zamora was a great finisher. Again, note to self: Don't bet the house!
