I don't think this would be a fight for the faint hearted.

I figure Zamora stops Moon in a war.

As much as I like Moon I just don't see him winning this one. He goes out on his shield though, fighting hard to the end.

This would be a gory mess and likely one of the best fights ever. I think Zamora starts to break Moon down quicker than the opposite, but it'd sure be fun to watch!

I think Moon hit just as hard as Zamora and definitively had a better chin, but Zamora was a far more precise puncher - which may be the difference. But even though I'd slightly favor Zamora, the Mexican likely won't survive if Moon lands one of those ugly windmill shots flush either. Zamora could be hurt - and hurt easily - and it didn't even require all-time punchers like Zarate nor an onset of decline. Heck, he barely survived against Soo-hwan Hong in their second match.

I was actually considering a Moon win as I wrote my post, but I agree. The precision bombing from Zamora would start to do damage quicker, and Zamora would be winning more exchanges.

Yup. But the difference is that Moon needs to land just one flush on Zamora, whereas Zamora needs to land a lot.

It's too bad that Zamora v. Hong II no longer exists on film - at least on the South Korean end. That fight would show how vulnerable Zamora was even his pre-Zarate loss (which some claim "ruined" him). Zamora was very nearly done when Octavio Meyran got in the way before Hong could finish Zamora in one of the middle rounds. It was a bit reminiscent of how the French ref kept getting in the way when G-Man was about to put out Benn. That fight really was a riot - literally. Meyran made so many questionable calls that I think WBC initially called it a no contest and then later amended the decision again to a Zamora knockout. Korean fans rioted, and Meyran justifiably feared for his life. And if Hong can put Zamora in q-u-e-e-r streets, Moon would decapitate him.

The funniest bit from this wild fight was that Zamora supposedly told Hong that Hong couldn't finish him, because Hong "can't punch" and advised him to "chop some wood" to gain punching power. Hong did, and he says it did improve his power by a lot! ;)

One more dimension to this fight: Moon cut easily, even from his amateur days. So I think it's more likely that Zamora stops him on cuts than on a knockout or a referee stoppage.
