This fight over here is flying under the radar and could very well steal the show from the main event tonight. I know some of you may be thinking Joel Julio is really just going to get pummeld and beaten up tonight, but I think there is a good chance he pulls off a good perfomance.

I've been reading on how he's added a conditioning coach and how he feels more prepared than ever for this fight. Also in the weigh in he looked better than what he normally does and waited for Angulo patiently (he was more than an hour late for the weigh in) and made weight without skipping a meal.

Angulo on the other hand was rumored to maybe having trouble with weight as the reason for him being more than 1-1/2 late for the weigh in while others say he was stuck in traffic.

Before this reports I was basically thinking Angulo is going to steam-roll him and beat him by TKO late in the fight. But Joel has good ability and stylistically he matches up well with Angulo if he doesn't break under pressure. Kermit Cintron who is known for breaking down under pressure was able to outbox Angulo, Joel is also a boxer puncher who could theorically pull off the same type of perfomance.

I'm still sticking with Angulo as I see a good future for him and think he'll pull through better should the fight get uncomfortable for both fighters. But I'm expecting a very good fight until someone perhaps starts taking over in the later rounds (which I think Angulo has the advantage here). What do you think? :bbb

good analysis and nice insight about the weigh in, didn't know about that. to be honest i forgot about the fight until i checked the hbo schedule and saw it was the undercard.

unfortunately for me, i've lost all faith in julio. maybe he'll surprise me and i'll look foolish but i didn't think much of him before the kirkland fight and that sealed the deal imo. he's sloppy, overrated power, poor stamina, sub par chin, does not have technique to fall back on. and i don't think much of his heart.

angulo is overrated to but what he does, he does real well and i'm with your initial assessment: steamroll

    good post.

I'm always paying attention to what fighters have to say before their fights and always expect to see something better from them when they talk about how they are in the best shape of their lives etc.

Like I said I'm not picking Julio to win but I'll be paying extra attention to him to see if any of what he said has any thruth to it. Just thought it was interesting and other fans should keep an eye out also. :good

Julio will fold early in this one. If he can't hurt Angulo in 1 or 2 he's done.

Julio has the Columbian Fighter Syndrome...Once they cant KO you they don't have another game plan. Miranda, Torres, Julio, and Urango are all carriers.

If Cintron can do it I don't see why Julio can't.
