Angulo really impressed me, because that Gutierrez was no joke - he was strong and had a fairly good defense. But Angulo just fought nonstop and even showed heart and toughness in there. Definitely want to see him again. That was the best fight on the card. Great matchup.

i see nothing special in angulo he reminds me on margarito a little bit he doesnt get enough leverage on the legs when he throws his combinations especially his punches to the body he is a little faster than marg. i believe but his punches doesnt have the fluid motion tha promotes power he also has a very high output and is very easy to counter but guitierres punches were very wide, when cotto goes up after he cleans out 147 in about 2 ys if angulo is a champ a guy like cotto will expose him i dont see angulo as a future star he will be a pretty good fighter like margarito but not elite

I agree. His boxing technique and ability to stay cool under fire was impressive. He needs to get more experience under his belt. He could be a major factor in the 154 division in 18 to 24 months, if he stays active.

    come on man,
he just took out a man that went neck and neck with clottey, a guy who many think is about the break the elite level....:-( :-( :-(

and he only has 12 ****en fights :deal
he's like a polished up version of margarito, and yes my friend, as much as you hate it, MARGARITO IS ELITE

A lot of people seemed to forget that Angulo got seriously hurt in this fight by a light puncher at 154. His chin should at least be considered shaky and his skills are nothing special. However with the JMW division as weak as it is, Angulo might pick up a belt. He's a tough guy with some real power and pretty good skills. He would have a horrible time against a solid counterpuncher though.

It would be great to see Angulo vs Kirkland where the winner gets a shot at a title.

bro margarito is a good solid fighter but he is not considered elite like guys like mosley, odlh, pbf, cotto, forrst, tito etc,, icant consideredii guy that losses to paul will elite,,, angulo is just a little faster than margarito but heis just as technicaly flawed as him and is very open to counters due to the fact that he has no defence and his high out put of 1000+ punches make him very easy to counterpunch,, i will consider marg elite if he beats cotto were he basicaly has a punchers chance but i expect cotto to dominate him since he is superior in every technical aspect of the game

Angulo's a good, schooled pressure fighter. He might be a little more technical skilled than Margarito, but I don't think he has the same intangibles that have allowed Margarito to go as far as he has. Angulo's chin isn't nearly as solid and he isn't as fluid on the inside. He can be outboxed, but he'll always make for exciting fights.

so based on what your saying, chapo rosario wasn't elite :deal

bro, when you call a figher c+ for not having a solid defense, it just shows your lacking bigtime...
right now, it's to soon to even call it, but the guy is facing really solid opponents so early in his career AND ENDING THEM !!! you dont gotta run and hide to win fights to be considered elite...

i wish fans would enjoy this style of fighting better then ****en defensive minded fighters like winky, floyd, bhop etc etc.....as a matter of fact, they shouldn't be elite cause they're not offensive :deal :deal :deal

you see how stupid that sounds

bro your ofensive skills can only take you so far, you have to show at least some defensive responsibilities when fighting the elite b/c you will either get scholled by a good elite boxer or posibly get KTFO by a strong elite puncher like tito for example...
if you are an all out risk taking type of fighter it would be a mistake of just relied on your strong chin as your only line of defense unless you are a guy like chavez that had a granite chin but even chavez had decent defense much better than all risk pressure type brawlers like margarito and angulo

i understand, but if you would've seen chavez's early fights, when they would call him MISTER KNOCKOUT you would've been saying the same ****......thats how fighters come up dog, hungry like ****en dogs and savages...i'm sure when it's time, he's start evolving into something special......show me another guy right now with a more impressive resume then perro angulo....you might throw in gamboa, but even he is already a little star, why should angulo get the shitty end of the stick..

sorry men but i just dont see angulo evolving into anything that special, based on what i saw last night he is very easy to counter, and i dont like the way he throws his punches in not a fluid motion, he squares up alot has no jab, and his chin is not on margarito's level b//c the guy je fought last night was not considered a big puncher, iwill give him props 4 his finishing skills he knew what to do when he had him hurt, but the level of class and technique of TOP ELITE mexican fighters like, chavez, sanchez, moralez,MAB,JMM,odlh he doesnt have he will not reach to the level of those HOF but he will still had a chance to become a champ and make a name for himself im not saying he will be a complete failure

"if margarito ****ed cotto in the ass and had a kid, that kid would be you"
