I've seen him several times. Tough kid, lots of drive, good power and an emerging body puncher. I thought that was the key to his victory. On the other hand, his speed is very average, and he's got an ever bigger problem: Too easy to time. Gutierrez read him easily, but he was too sloppy to land consistently, and he fought a stupid fight anyway. I do like Angulo and will happily watch him again, though.
the last time somebody was moved up that quick was oscar and fernando vargas.....AND I REMEMBER THE SAME **** BEING SAID ABOUT THEM..... :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl oscar had even gotten dropped, and nobody gave nando a chance in hell against marquez or yoryboy....
bro look at gutierres record he barely beat a guy in hicket lau who has 16 losses on his record he got a mayority decision against that guy and based on what you saw last night you cant compare him to guys that have proven themselves before wining world championships like bazan was when cotto fought him bazan was 29 yrs old he wasnt faded an he was only stop once by castillo
angulo is 25 which is not that young for a guy having his 13 pro fight, you guys are really overhyping him you cant tell me that after watchin him last night watching his skills his tecqunique the way he throws his combinations on the inside which have no fluidness whatsoever in comparison to say a guy like cotto, tyson, chavez etc good inside fighters like that ,, there is NO way that you can considered this guy a future star and a cant miss prospect,, plus he was almost KTFO last night
almost and nobody is hyping him up, just giving him his dues and respect. you gotta understand though, somtimes stars are born and they dont have an ounce of what most call "real skill"....if mayorga can be a force (even if it only lasted 2-3 years) then i can definately see angulo being one..... the problem with fans now is that they aint satisfied no more, they wanna see the future oscar's, floyd's etc etc....therefore, anybody that fights and has an undefeated record is already getting hated on and criticized......enjoy the fights bro, no need to downtalk good fighters like that.. remember when cotto got put on ***** street by torres and corley, many were saying he would for sure get ko'd by quintana, judah and mosley.....my man cotto proved the crtics wrong and came back stronger than ever !!!!
From the first time I saw him I thought Jose Antonio Rivera, and he's done little to change that in my mind. Way too slow to ever be elite, but should be good enough to win a couple of belts.
Chavez never fought as an amateur, and was 17 when he went pro. Angulo fought in the Olympics, was a 4-time national amateur champion, and was 23. Big difference.
look men there is a difference between being almost ko by a guy that hasnt done **** an barely beat a guy with 16 losses in hicket lau and being hurt by past and current champions in corley and torres and cotto was very weight drained at that weight, angulo has too many flaws that any elite level guy will expose he willnever be a superstar top elite fighter i guarantee you that
