Alfredo Escalera vs Floyd Mayweather, Jr in San Juan, P.R.
    At Jr. Lightweight.

Pretty Boy might not find himself "so pretty" after this one is over.

Note: Alexis Arguello had the huevos to go in Escalera's backyard to win the Jr. Lightweight Title.

This was 1970's Latin America big time fight era.

The only way the Mayweather braintrust takes the fight is if was the only title available to them.

I dont like Floyd at all, but you're severely underrating how incredible he was at 130.

Alfredo Escalera was not in Floyd's league and would not win.

Theres a short list of guys at 130 who could potentially beat Floyd, and Escalera ain't on it.

While I'm not one of these misinformed casuals who consider Floyd the GOAT, there is no doubt that Floyd was an all time great. Escalera wasnt even great - he was in the "very good" category.

Mayweather wins a decision but the judges make it seem a bit closer than it actually was. Because there is no way Alfredo Escalera beats a Floyd Mayweather, not even in Alfredo's home country. Unless he connects a lucky punch and A) Mayweather was just so slippery and B) Alfredo had decent power but not John Mugabi-power in which you had to watch out every time he threw something at you.

It’s a simple as that Floyd is no top 10 all-time great but he is top 40 if you wanna know how that fight would go look at Gotti vs Floyd.
