it the one judge who gave him the 12 round went the other way...the fight would have been a draw. very feasible.

I hear you but that don't mean you can't still grow. You selling him short. Look at Cotto. The man hasn't been beat up and he's in tip top shape. He has a fighting mind and it won't take as long for him to get where he needs to be.

Dirrel is quite a bit different than Algieri. He has some pop on his shots and though he moves, he doesn't run. The guy he was fighting, though, was completely outclassed.

 

I like his style.
He moves beautifully,he doesn't hold and he throws textbook punches.

 

Provodnikov is good for boxing, he is exciting and he won the fight. The one neutral judge had it for Provodnikov, the two home town judges had it for Algieri. There is a rematch clause in Provodnikov's contract, so there will be a rematch in neutral territory with neutral judges and referee. Roach said this will happen...............

 

He took up boxing at 23 - 24 though, it isn't a case where he has been boxing since he was a kid.

 

The thing that's funny to me is that the only reason Algieri is being built up as someone that will have some kinda impact on the sport is entirely due to the fact that he beat an "HBO fighter"...

HBO, instead of just admitting they were wrong about Provo being some kind of special fighter bound for great things, is really just a run of the mill brawler with power that can be easily outboxed... What they do instead is promote the winner like this ATG that just beat this other ATG...

Algieri will probably have just as big an impact on the sport as Nobuhiro Ishida... Chill out people
