Algeri running and pitty pat punches shouldnt have won him that fight

Provo didn't do enough. I expected him to be more agrresive but he let Algeri slip away too many times.

 

So using boxing skills mean you don't deserve to win? Algeri boxed well he jabbed got off first and moved. He has limited power so you want him to stand in front of a big puncher and slug it out? He fought to his strength and won the fight by doing so and he out worked and out landed him by doing so in almost every round.. It's not his fault Provo is limited and couldn't do anything about it. Learn how to appreciate all styles or find a new sport. Algeri showed heart and put on a boxing clinic last night.

 

The guy was doing ali shuffles and dancing thinking hes all big and then seconds later he was running away like a scared chicken.

He has no punching power. Garcia would beat him easy. Even broner would beat him

 

Fight could have went either way, had algeri winning myself, but if you found how he was fighting boring you need to find a new sport. Lateral movement is not gay guys

 

A lot of those "pity pat punches" had Ruslan's head snapping back. There were long stretches in several rounds where Ruslan just ate jabs and straight shots offering nothing in return. Fighters lose rounds like that. The first round with the 2 KDs put him in a comfortable lead. But, he couldn't hold on to it. It looks like Roach understood that too. So, he told Ruslan he needed the KO.

 

If people start scoring body punches ,Ruslan wins by a landslide !

they look like pitty pat punches on the screen, no they wont rip anyone's head off but no one wants to stand there and eat clean punches from anyone. why dont you try to eat one of those pitty pat punches to see how they feel?

just bc prov was not hurt does not mean the punches were not effective enough to keep him at bay.

It was a close fight but come on I saw Ruslan's head snap back a lot in the second half of the fight

 

And the sport is boxing....you move and counter etc what Miguel vazquez does is running, not algieri. And I wanted Ruslan to win

 

Even Lampley (who was pro Ruslan) seemed befuddled by HBO's statistics. Algeri landed more power shots and at higher percentage. I'm not one to use compubox to determine the winner of a fight. But, it can't really be argued that Ruslan outpunched Algeri, except in the sense that Ruslan showed who the more powerful puncher is.

I didn't count punches. But, if you count all those jabs that snapped Ruslan's head back as "power shots" then it's possible. Not to mention, the body shots.
