I think its a great fighting experience for Spence and its something his camp should be considering putting together. He should beat Algerie but he`ll get some good rounds in with a skilled pro.
It's a good step up...almost too good. he won't fight Algieri...or maybe he finally feels he is ready to make the leap? it has to be made at some point. Might pull a Brook and keep the level low for the next few years.
I'm not high on Algieri but he is a tough guy and no way on Earth does Spence stop him. I think he gives Spence trouble and loses a competitive decision
LOL, what leap? He beat Thurman and Amir Imam in the amateurs, and fought the Cuban, Russian and Ukranian champs. Algeri = Van Heedren.
Solid step up for Spence but I doubt he would take such a fight at this point.Algieri a tough out for anyone.Haymon will protect this kid who is a potential big time star of the future.
Lomachenko, Golovkin, Usyk and Beterbiev must be all p4p top10 then. As for the poll, Algieri would be a great opponent for Spence. Hard for me to make a prediction yet.
Right like Provo did? Algeiri is not great but good enough to be a hassle for most fighters, Spence included. Not much gain or glory in it for Spence imo.
Big whoop. Khan would have sonned Thurman & Brook in ams doesn't make that the case in the pro game. Algieri would probably be his best opponent to date.
I didn't say anything about Spence being top-10, just having fought better than Algeiri, who didn't have an amateur career; and Lomachenko and Golovkin are.
