It's obviously not on par with his wins over Barrera, Cotto or Bradley, but it makes an excellent addition to his resume.

Algieri is no A+ level fighter, but his fights with Provodnikov and Taylor prove that he is worthy of top 5 consideration in his division. Had Pac beaten him 116-112 I would have said meh. Even if he'd beaten him 119-109 I would said it didn't add that much to his legacy. But a 120-102 crushing is what makes it worthy of being considered a great victory. Knocking a guy down 6 times who is #3 in his division is no joke.

It could have been a worse opponent but when we are talking about one of the best fighters of the era still on P4P lists facing a guy when there are easily 10+ significantly better opponents out there for him, it is not a "great win" for him no matter the means of how he got the victory (his domination was thorough, no question).

It was a "good" win and a very good performance. The win may elevate to very good if Algeri surprises us and wins some more fights against solid fighters.

I really don't see it as much worse than Floyds wins over Maidana. Slightly worse but Pac dominated more thoroughly.

Both fighters need to step up or GTFO.

Good win, not great by any means.

He did look like a million dollars in there though, maybe in his next fight he can look like 80 million, but I don't keep my hopes up.

He did what a p4p fighter is supposed to do to a guy just inside the top 10 of a division below him.

Its what I would expect to happen if GGG fought Bundrage at 157
