Funny news. Seen it on Dan Rafael's Twitter. Good trainer or not, I'd be seeking a new trainer out of pure embarrassment!

Chris had a AMA on reddit today where he confirmed this himself. Cool guy, wish more boxers would do things like that.

Hopefully he gets someone like Virgil Hunter who is good at teaching defense.

I suppose he'll seek a rematch with Pac after he's finally let out of his cage

Algieri is not a bad boxer by any means. I'm no pro but I think there are things he could do differently. Might be difficult to break habits though. He's tall but doesn't always fight tall. He doesn't seem to work his strengths against his opponent's weaknesses.

Maybe moving up to 147 and possibly 154 in the future will help him.

A touch of Hunter could help.

I know he's trained a few times at Robert Garcia's gym.

It wouldn't surprise me if Robert takes him under his wing. He thinks highly of Algieri.

He's a cagey guy, I'm sure he'll get along fine without Tim.

Wasn't he praising Tim Lane like crazy? Talking about how he knew Lane since he was a kid? I mean c'mon Tim needs to get some credit, it doesn't matter if Jesus was training Algieri he wasn't going to win. At least Tim got him through Taylor and Ruslan right?

I tend to agree that Hunter could be good for Algieri. I'm not high on Hunter in general, but he could help Algieri utilise his range and poise.

Also, slightly off topic, I would love to see Algieri vs Crawford which was mooted recently. I think that would be a great fight.

    Apparently he escaped the cage!

Algieri needs Roach. His offense sucks. Virgil would totally ruin him.

Seriously, Algieri with R.Garcia would do him any better? I mean, seriously?

He doesn't want to become a punching bag i suppose.
