    Not wonderful news on TBA...

    Jovany "Pelón" Javier Gómez Rueda is a pretty massive step down in class - among the worst opponents Akhmedov has ever fought in the pros. Not only does he already have eleven stoppage losses, he's a very tiny & rusty man - having fought thrice before at cruiser, all in 2016, prior to which there's a three year gap dating to his KO1 loss to Yuri Foreman at 154lbs in 2013. Somehow, two months before that, he fought - and was knocked out - at super featherweight. :ohno

    Have to imagine there was at least one natural light heavy, SMW or even middleweight - however poor their record - that was willing and available, that would've been less dire than this.

    In other good news there WILL in fact be another card this week airing even before Akhmedov vs. Gómez, it just hadn't been added to BoxRec as of Sunday when I posted that!
